Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This guesthouse is very nicely located near the metro so it is easy to move around. the place is very small and in desperate need of renovation. the owner is very welcoming and always ready to help. It is quite cheap to stay here but it is also not the nicest place you will ever spend the night.

We stayed several nights in this nice guesthouse during our last visit to Toronto. Our Room 7 was located at the fround level and had nice ceilings and a small bathroom. The staff was very kind and we enjoyed walking underneath the trees in the cosy neighbourhood.

This place cancelled our room 1 week before our arrival. Room was booked 5 months ago. Reason was :"sorry we overbooked our place we cannot receive you". Obviously they do not have any negative impact even if this place has a cancellation fees If I was the one to cancel. I cannot give 0 stars unfortunately.

I stayed at Keppner Guesthouse with my mom in early May 2019 on a weekend visit to Toronto. Keppner Guesthouse was the only spot both affordable and available in the time crunch after an Airbnb booking turned out to be a scam. We arrived in Toronto and right away was able to check in with the lovely, kindhearted guesthouse owner. I paid extra to keep my car around back in the parking lot, which was well worth the (minor) extra expense. Keppner Guesthouse was quiet, clean, and well-situated. Please don’t be put-off by the homey appearance one bit; my mom and I were very much satisfied with everything from the bathroom (excellent shower pressure and more than plenty of hot water) to the amenities. Keppner Guesthouse is also well situated from Dundas Square, good food options in the neighborhood, and the nearest subway station. I would definitely stay again.

Its OK located, not exactly downtown but round the corner from a couple of subway stations and that was fine. Its reasonably priced and Toronto is expensive. It was VERY clean and quiet but the rooms are on the shabby side and I did expect a little more. The guy, Stephen, couldnt have been more helpful tho. We just got on with it and it was more than OK.

Unfortunately, our experience was that this guest house is to be avoided. The rooms look nothing like on the photos and the room we got was very dirty: gum on the walls, spiderwebs, generally the walls looked like they haven’t been painted or cleaned in years, the same goes for the bathroom, which had all manner of stains on the wall around the sink and toilet. To make things worse the sheets were also dirty and the room smelled very badly. For this price, we weren’t expecting any kind of luxury, but this is basically false advertising as the gap between the photos and reality is huge. We had booked three nights and we left after one. The manager reimbursed us for two of these nights and then tried to make it seem like we had never even showed up towards the booking service through which we booked, in order to avoid a bad review, even though we had spent one night there and paid for it.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend visit from Milwaukee. It was a great location, very quiet but close to the underground station for easy transportation. The building was old, but the service was excellent, and our room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a reasonably-priced place to stay in Toronto.

I thought that Keppner was quite expensive but compared to other accommodations in Toronto it's not that bad. It's not the kind of place that you'd want to spend a lot of time in though. Our room was basic, a liittle shabby, included a shower cubicle but the bed wasn't too comfortable and the room wasn't too warm overnight. There's also a microwave and fridge in the room but no plates or knives and forks. Good choice of channels on the TV. The surrounding area is great with some wonderful cheap restaurants and easy access to public transportation. Steve, the proprietor, gave us some money-off vouchers for the local Eggsmart restaurant and this was the perfect place for a filling breakfast

As with most things in life you get what you pay for. Keppner Guesthouse provides cost effective accommodation in a city where hotels cost a premium, and this is worth remembering when staying here. The room was clean and tidy, with en suite shower room which was immaculate. The owner was not on site when we arrived but he turned up after about 15 minutes to check us in and show us to our room. Although not central to Downtown Toronto a short 10-15 minute walk brings you into the livelier part of the city on Yonge Street but the area itself is still well served with convenience stores and some restaurants. My only grumble with the accommodation is the paper thin walls where a sneeze or cough can be heard in the next rooms, luckily this did not interfere at night and we managed to have a restful nights sleep.

The good points , good wifi ,clean bedding and towels, good location , near good eateries which were pointed out to us by the owner . Slept well , but room did not lend itself to feeling cosy , poorly decorated , made for short stays only . Used eggsmart for breakfast , and McCools on an evening .
