My friend and I were in Toronto for a view days and decided to do a B&B instead of a hotel in Toronto. We booked the Tranquility Suite which was larger then I had expected. A very comfortable bed, with a nice sitting area to write postcards and a separate area for more clothing storage. We were traveling by car,... More

Dodgy neighborhood, but very friendly and pleasant B and B. Perfectly adequate for a business trip. Nadia makes you feel very welcome and bends over backwards to accommodate you. The location is great. Short distance from the Dundas subway. Decor somewhat 'tired', but I think the bottom line is that it is great value for money.

I was telling a friend of mine at the conference, that I was staying at the Alan gardens bed and breakfast. I told him that it was great, that Nadia was so nice, that the food was delicious, and the other guests were so much fun. He couldn't believe Toronto had any bed and breakfasts, but the fact is, they... More

Stayed the weekend of November 16-18 with my husband for his BD. Very homey, Nadia is wonderful, takes time to sit with you upon arrival and find your interests, then makes recommendations and goes through a map to point out the sights you are interested in. Two miles or less easy walking distance to everything, but also on trolley and... More

I prefer to stay at B&Bs when I travel (can't always afford to, of course), and so my boyfriend surprised me with a weekend in Toronto at the Alan Gardens B&B to celebrate my birthday. We had an absolutely lovely time here--the owner, Nadia, was so helpful from the moment we arrived, and gave us a map of the area... More

This is a very reasonable place to stay - the area isn't ideal at night, but in general you can walk or take public transport to all parts of the city. Our room was large, clean, and things were generally well kept up. I don't really like having to share a bathroom with other guests - but we knew that... More

A knowledgable host with tips and advice about where to go (and how) and where to eat. The location is great, it is possible to see the city and reach the station on foot from the front door. It feels a safe area, just a little quirky. Three nights but only managed the excellent breakfast once. I wanted to leave... More

Nadia, the owner, was a great host giving us good advice about visiting Toronto. The room was very comfortable and clean with private bathroom. Temperature was 33 degrees outside and we slept very well with the central air conditionned in the house. Location is great very close to downtown. Free parking. We will definitely go back.

Those who regularly stay at B&B's may be disappointed. The hostess is great (and she will give you a complete introduction about how to get around the city and the city's many attractions), but the amenities may not be up to expectations. You can walk to downtown Toronto from here, which is nice.

We stayed 7 nights with the hostess Nadia, and we liked this B&B a lot. Nadia is very friendly and told us about everything we needed to know at first when we arrived, although perhaps for people who arrive tired from afar late in the evening it can be tiring to hear about all the sights and stuff like that...
