This hotel was shabby. I had a suite, but the furnishings were dilapidated, the set-up and lighting were poor, and many things did not work properly (e.g.,TV remote, door locks). The location is right on a noisy highway and a long way from downtown. Price seemed high for what was offered. more

I read the reviews and was scared- I got this place at a decent corporate rate and everything else in Charlottetown for the night was twice as much....so we went not expecting much! It turned out to be fine, very quiet room, we actually had french doors out into the banquet room which was kinda weird, but after assurance that... more

This hotel was rated 3.5, however, I would give it a 1. The rooms our group(3 couples) stayed in were terrible...........I had peeling spots in my bathtub, the beds were awful, and it was dark and dreary. We complained, but nothing was done. DO NOT stay here..................this is not a good Rodd property!!!!!! more

For the price you pay for one of these rooms you would think the matresses could be replaced once every 20 years or so. This hotel is dated, dirty and has not been maintained. After a day of travelling from Halifax, my wife and I stayed at this hotel based on their website and the fact it had a 3.5... more

I was quite surprised of the negative comments. I have been traveling quite extensively throughout Atlantic Canada over the past 20+ years. I also stayed at many of the Rodds hotels including this one. In comparison to many other hotel chains that I also frequented, the Royalty provides services and accomodations that compares to the best of the them. Our... more

My wife and I visited PEI with our 16 year-old son and 9 year-old daughter. I am a teacher and my wife is a medical professional. We stayed at a little motel in Summerside for 4 nights but we booked with Rodd for their 2 night special which includes the Anne of Green Gables play, Anne of Green Gables house... more

This place was reccomended by the tourist information place for my family to stay. The check in was ok then we went to our room... it was like something out of the seventies and the decor probabaly hadn't been changed since then.. It was awful. We were tired after a long journey and with 3 young kids the last thing... more

Well, this has to be the worst hotel i have ever stayed at, and the worst review i ever wrote. I called the hotel to find out if they had any rooms avaiable for that night, they said that they did and nowhere else in Charlottetown had vacancy (i know why now) so i went with it. The check-in went... more

Big disappointment from last year's Jack Frost Festival. Kids no longer eat free so it cost alot more. The breakfast buffet was horrible. There was only eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, and 4 cereals for $6. I paid $12 for my two kids to each have a bowl of cereal and a glass of apple juice. It was even bad for... more

The family have stayed at this particular hotel before and were quite satisfied then, which would have been three years ago. This year however, with the exception to the kids enjoying the pool and waterslide, and the room not too bad. One of the problems is the lack of personality at the front desk and information offered. They are there... more
