In early-August 2006 my family traveled three hours north of Quebec City to the area of the Saguenay Fjord for a very enjoyable two-night stay at Auberge du Jardin. The rooms at the Auberge were very comfortable and clean, and the owner-hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfasts featured local berries and jams, and they were enormous. We also had dinner at the Auberge on our first night there. We found the cooking to be tasty, if not great, and reasonably-priced. The Fjord itself is a worthy destination for hiking and boating. If you're in or near Saguenay's neck of the woods, I recommend the Auberge as very pleasant lodging furnished with a friendly, personal touch.
