If you want to stay in the coolest part of Montreal, in an authentic neighborhood with a magnificent park around the corner, the best bakery up the street, the bike path at your door and a charming host who also prepares such a breakfast feast each morning that you really don't need to hit the bakery, find your way to... more

There are only two rooms here, and both are very run down. It's very hard to understand the positive ratings here. The rooms are dirty and unkempt, and the host had dozens of odd rules. Our host was loud and irritating. The breakfast is also quite bad -- we wound up going out even though it was free. The place... more

The highlight of my stay in Montreal was Ken's delightful cooking. He is one of the most insightful, caring, attentive hosts I have ever encountered. A great conversationalist and cultured individual, Ken is an extremely hardworking, accomodating and passionate hotelier whose goal is to delight you, your palate and senses with his succulent, hearty and thoughtful breakfasts. Staying at Boulanger... more

Just returned from an extended fantastic weekend in Montreal. I had the pleasure of meeting Ken, the Innkeeper or Boulanger Bassin B&B, an articulate and cultured individual, extremely helpful and attentive. I would recommend to anyone (particularly families with kids) to stay at this establishment. The Sunset room is very comfortable, the bed soft and clean, invites you to sleep-in.... more

Boulanger Bassin is a one of a kind place in the heart of The Plateau! One of the few B&B’s you will find in this amazing neighborhood that quite possibly has it all within walking or biking distance. The area around the bed & breakfast is safe and quiet and our host Ken was full of suggestions on where to... more

Boulanger Bassin was a nice bed and breakfast in a great neighborhood with lots of restaurants, just minutes from the nearest subway station and a few stops from downtown. The owner, Ken, was welcoming and aimed to please. The breakfasts around 9am each morning included a fresh homemade croissant, yogurt with fresh fruit, and eggs or more fruit. It was... more

Four years ago we stayed with Ken because his B&B was just a few streets over from where our son lived. We've gone back every year since. This year our son moved to a different neighborhood, but still we stayed with Ken. We keep coming back to Ken because Boulanger Bassin is in the Platueau area of the city, very... more

After a six hour train trip from Toronto to Montreal, we arrived to a very warm welcome from Ken, the owner of Boulanger Bassin Bed & Breakfast. He immediately helped us with our bags and then headed straight off to buy us some local beers for us to try. This was a really nice and welcome surprise. It was the... more

What a lovely place, bubbling with good cheer and good eats! Waking up to the smells of coffee and fresh croissant changes the way a person starts looking at everyday life. We have now stayed in all three rooms and can say that all of them are very comfortable and have very different charms. Best of all is Ken which... more

It was a very nice experience living at Kens house for 5 days. He made lovely breakfasts for us, and we had several nice conversations with him. We loved staying in somebodys home, we felt like a part of the family. more
