The Hotel Clarendon is a beautiful art-deco building, however once inside our 'room' we were sorely disappointed. My partner and I were given a first floor room (room 123 for future reference) which I am sure started its life as a broom cupboard. Joking aside, there was a small window that looked onto some sort of generator. There was so... more

We stayed in the Hotel Clarendon the night of June 23, 2008. Supposed to be the oldest hotel in Quebec City but in very good condition. We are not luxury-driven but expect to have a good location, clean accomodations and a private bath. Should have known that Trip Advisor would not let us down. All the good reviews are warranted.... more

It is great location and rather nice hall but nothing more. The Queen size bad was double in reality and very uncomfortable. The photos on the hotel’s web site do not reflect the real quality and especially the state of the rooms, which are small, shabby, and unpleasant. Also, in my mind, the carpet on the elevator’s wall is a... more

After spending many hours researching hotels in old Quebec, (the historic part within the fortification walls) I settled on Hotel Clarendon. The location is fantastic and is very central to everything, easily one of the best locations in the village. What was surprising was that a hotel with such a fantastic location wasn't in better condition. It's a fairly large... more

I can't write enough good things about this hotel! The location is amazing, right in the heart of the old city. It's just a stone's throw to the Frontenac and the Fernicular, making it easy to access the upper and lower towns. The hotel has terrific character and the rooms are beautiful and well appointed. The shower took a little... more

Stayed at the Clarendon one night to attend the Quebec Winter Carnival. The location could not have been better. Close to the carnival, restaurants, shops. Parking across the street for $14 per 24 hours, great price and they take your car over and return it when you leave. We booked 2 rooms for six people, we could not get adjoing... more

My wife and I and two young sons, ages 10 and 8, stayed at the Clarendon Hotel for two nights on the first weekend in February. In short, the hotel is dreary and short on character. The rooms are small, the decor sombre and the halls shabby. The hotel is in desperate need of an update. This is not old-world... more

My girlfriend and I and her two young adult daughters spend three days between Xmas and New Year's at the Clarendon, and we were very pleased with the choice. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable (the high ceilings in this old building were a pleasure), the location of the hotel was ideal for walking just about anywhere in... more

Arrived at hotel around noon'ish on December 23rd and was given early check in to the room. Hotel seemed to be quiet over the Christmas period which was nice and was decorated beautifully. Stayed for 3 nights until Boxing Day and dinner in hotel restaurant flled with reservations quicky! Booked through a travel agency and was a little worried we... more
