In October of 2007 we chose Quebec City as our vacation destination. We did not want to rent a car, and yet we wanted to see all of the historical sites of Old Quebec City. We could not have chosen a more suitable place for our 8 night accommodation. The Auberge du Tresor is located right in the heart of... more

The hotel is an ancient building, so expect a few things going wrong: low pressure in the shower, funny smelling rooms, poor ventilation and paper thin walls. One might think it is part of the charm. Wonderful location, close walk to everything in Quebec city and right next to Chateau Frontenac. Beautiful restaurant with stunning food (but $$$) downstairs. Staff... more

The perfect location for our three night post-cruise getaway. The hotel is directly across Place d'Armes from the Chateau Frontenac, next door to the tourist office, and across the street from the post office. If you can tolerate the steep set of stairs you have to climb to the registration office, then everything else is perfect. We were on the... more

My wife and I stayed two nights, and have to say we had a great time. We had a package that included four course gourmet dinners with wine and full breakfasts for two, plus free parking. Our room facing the street was small, but adequate. The inn's location in the center of Quebec City, and opposite the Chateau Frontenac was... more

We could not have hoped for a better stay! The hotel was located just across a small park from the Chateau de Frontenac and seemed to be right in the middle of everything else. We could look out our window on the bustling activity all around us but were amazed on how quiet it was in the room itself. The... more

We were quite pleased with Auberge du Tresor with it's basic rooms and superb location. It is directly accross from Chateau Frontenac and the boardwalk, directly beside the tourist office and funnicular, 2 bocks from Rue St. Jean with good relatively reasonable restaurants and a wide variety of shopping. Literally all historic sites in the upper and lower town are... more

A truly local inn of the European variety -- clean, comfortable, basic rooms, good sized bathroom (my room had one) with attentive, friendly, and helpful staff. If you want extra towels or a hairdryer just ask. Discount parking (invaluable if you drive and it is only 1-1/2 blocks away underground). Take advantage of their packages with meals, great restaurant plus... more

What a wonderful treasure in a great location. I have stayed at this hotel twice. The first time I went, I was a bit disappointed with the room, it was on the back side of the hotel so seemed quite dark. the water pressure in the shower wasn't that great. however, the location is fabulous.....we parked the car for the... more

Quebec City, like most tourist cities eg. San Francisco and New Orleans, are walking cities. Most of your time is spent outdoors viewing the hundreds of historic sites, fine dining for all meals, or just shopping. You only use the hotel for sleeping. If you are a family and the kids have no interest in history, then you'd better stay... more

We realy enjoyed our stay here. The room was nice, but small, As we spent little time in the room , size was not a problem. We loved the location and the price. I had my 70th birthday dinner in the resturant down below and the food was just wonderful. more
