The staff was absolutely wonderful and was able to help us even though our French was not perfect. The place is a rabbit warren of corridors and lifts connecting several old houses on Grand Allee Not difficult to see why Fairmont got rid of this and kept their other hotel in the city. We booked two economy rooms at Chateau Laurier. The first was a very small room on the second floor (259) overlooking the A/C equipment. The machinery was within arm's reach of the window & very noisy. The Chateau Laurier is one of the few four star properties where the choice of the room makes all the difference between a fabulous and a frustrating stay. While potentially an above average hotel in a close to perfect location with excellent facilities and very attentive staff, my room in the 441 to 447 aile diminished the pleasure a bit.... more
