We were thinking of perhaps renting an apartment for a week or 2 as we visit Quebec City often. I read another recommendation for this place and decided to give it a try. It was terrific. For starters, the location can't be beat. We stayed in room #9 for 5 nights. It had a fantastic view of the St. Lawrence,... more

Fabulous location overlooking the St Lawrence and quieter than many in the old city. Both beds were great, contrary to reports from some other reviewers. (I changed rooms to get air conditioning). Back rooms are small, but I liked paying only $99. I would stay there again but reserve in time to get a room with river view. Reserved parking... more

Over the last 25 years my husband and I have visited Quebec City at least 15 times. We have stayed at 3 different hotels in the City including the Frontenac. We found the Chateau de la Terrasse on our third visit and have never stayed anywhere else since. It is the most spectacular location in the City. It is the... more

The exterior is a beautifully preserved 19thc residence, and the location is great. The first floor is pleasant, and peeking in at the lodgings across from the office, those accomodations looked much like the pictures on the website. We chose this hotel because we like staying in historic inns, and we prefer to support local businesses instead of big chain... more

I was very apprehensive staying here because of the iffy reviews and I asked constant questions about the hotel via the hotel website. Mirelle was so gracious, patiently answering all of my questions and sending numerous photos of the different rooms so that we could find exactly what we were looking for. We chose room #1 with a private balcony... more

My husband and I spent days looking for the right hotel in Old Quebec. Us being smokers, most hotels in Old Quebec do not allow smoking, so we thought we would have to sacrifice because we wanted to be right downtown. Then we found this hotel, and got a room with a balcony. The hotel location was excellent, and the... more

My boyfriend and I decided to stay in Quebec City an extra night and stopped at this hotel because it had a vacancy sign. The owner seemed nice and spoke a little bit of English, and it was a rainy summer evening, so we decided to take our chances on the basement room offered. Big mistake. The ceilings are about... more

Whatever you do, do not book a room in the basement! We booked the room based on a friend's recommendation, the cheap rate and tripadvisor reviews, but we really wished we hadn't bothered. What an awful experience! The basement stinks of mold or mildew, I bought air freshener, which didn't help. We kept the doors open as much as possible,... more

Quel desapointement! We found great reviews about the old little hotel chateau de la terasse and followed our hearts and spent the first night of our trip in this little place. We took our time to get the perfect place for our first night in quebec city. So so disappointing. We had the room in the third floor (#16 i... more

Hubby and I stayed for 2 nights at this Chateau around the beginning of August 2006. We stayed in room #8, on the second floor with River views. Room #8 is a large room, and the window in the front opened wide enough for both of us to "lean out". (We really wanted a balcony room, but they were booked.... more
