We were surprised at the lack of affordable places to stay in this great city. We decided early that we would have to stay at this large hostel- no problem since we have been staying in them for decades. The Auberge is located centrally but on a fairly quiet street and either up or down a hill depending upon which... more

staff is really nice and obliging, organized a bar tour with the travellers -nice to get to know people- , even had tickets to the Montreal Canadians -great game. 4-bedroom is okay, own bathroom, clean. Walking distance to Mt. Royal and Downtown. more

This was only the second hostel that I have ever stayed in and I wasn't sure what to expect. I though that it was great. Exceptionally clean, comfortable bunks and very clean washrooms. The location was perfectly situated in Vieux Quebec. A bit of a steep climb up the hill to the hostel. I actually had booked to stay at... more

This hostel actually outdid a hotel that I paid over twice the price for! It is clean, spacious, quiet, and within the old city, meaning that you can leave the car parked and explore the city on foot. They excelled at the little things, having discounted parking passes ready at check-in, as well as internet access, lounging areas, a bar... more

My friends and I went on a roadtrip through Canada and we started in Québec. The hostel is more as we all expected! It was very clean, the stuff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing. We met a lot of other backpackers and young people. The location is right in the city, everything was walkable and... more

This hostel is definitely one of the best I have ever stayed at in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and location. We had a private room with a private bathroom. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Our room was in a separate building connected to the main building and required the key card to enter. I think our separate... more

Very, very nice hostel. Very big, but when I was there, in December 2008, it was very quiet. I slept in a 8person dorm room and had at max 3 other people in the room! Probably mostly due to the very, very cold winters here... Breakfast is okay, for 6 bucks you have a nice buffet. They organize a lot... more

Quebec City is a very special place. The Hi Hostel is in the centre of the old city which is right where you want to be! It has bright airy, extremely clean rooms, good breakfast facilities, reasonably priced internet and friendly helpful staff. My sister and I, 55+yrs loved it and would gladly recommend it to other travellers. We did... more

I attended a conference in Quebec City but didn't want to spend $200 per night at a conference hotel. Hadn't stayed in a youth hostel for close to 30 years. Staying at a hostel isn't easy if you are used to hotels, private bathrooms, elevators, large closets, etc. But if you don't mind an adventure the hostel is the way... more
