Arrived late and were greeted graciously by the staff - this was consistent through the visit. They made reservations for us, breakfast was tasty, the complimentary hot chocolate/cappucino/espresso/with optional decaf machine was an INCREDIBLE and very unexpected touch! We had room 52 - the room was spacious and the decor was a bit busy but it was cozy and the... More

Bonjour, Thanks for the review!! We have so many good words from our guests regarding our complementary coffee machine in the lobby... Did you try the café latté? This is the best one! The Pain Béni is a really good restaurant and believe me, I'm not saying that because the restaurant is part of the company! We offer at the... More

While the location was great, our room was the pits! Be sure not to get room 43. We payed the extra high prices during Carnival and paid for the upgrade to Superior room. The upgrade was not worth it. The standard rooms look way nicer in the pictures than the room we got. The bed was the most uncomfortable sleep... More

Bonjour, I'm really sorry to read your review. The satisfaction of our guests is very important for us but obviously we seem have failed in that mission. Room 43 is a room usually appreciated and is not facing a wall. That room offers a nice city view. Maybe where you in another room? If you have the chance, please call... More

Perfect distance to carnival for walking. Many restaurants around. Easy to get bus to ice hotel. Close to petit Champlain shops and citadel. Very friendly english and French speaking staff and very helpful with answering questions and suggesting restaurants. Only bad things: Needs more counter space and hooks in bathroom. Couldn't open the window in room For some fresh air.... More

Bonjour, Thank you for the good rating! You are saying in your review that we are close to everything which is totally accurate. The location of the Champlain Hotel is very hard to beat, right in the middle of the Old-Town, within the walls. Everything is walkable from here. We took note of you suggestions for more storage space in... More

My boyfriend and I decided to visit Ville de Quebec in December. What a beautiful city! Le Champlain Hotel was right in the center of Old Quebec. You could stroll down the hill to a variety of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops. The hotel itself has a very cute library next to the lobby where you can sit and enjoy... More

Bonjour, Thanks for your good words... They are more than welcome! "Home away from home"... This is what we want to hear from every single guests staying at the Champlain Hotel! By the way, I totally agree with your tip about the superior room. It worth the money to upgrade to a superior room which has a very beautiful view... More

My husband and I travel here for our anniversary and we've been to this hotel three times. Each time, it's the same great experience as the last. The service is great, the rooms are large, warm, cozy and very modern. Our first two times, we faced the main street which wasn't too loud. I'm not a fan of seeing horse-drawn... More

This was my second time in this hotel. The first was in summer, a hot humid weekend and you could count on finding a cool room to sleep in at night. This time it was a very cold weekend and we could count on having a very warm room to sleep in. The rooms are well appointed, I like the... More

Bonjour, Thank you for your review. Cleanliness is very important us. All the rooms are always very clean, with or without rug. But having tiles in a few rooms instead of a carpet can be very much appreciated for people with special needs, such allergenic or asthmatic people. Most of the standard rooms have tiles. I'm glad to see that... More

Hotel Champlain had an excellent location in Vieux Quebec. Within walking distance from shopping, restaurants and sights. Service was excellent, breakfast was good and room was clean. As for price, we booked the room as part of an online booking site sale, so we got a good price. I'm not sure I would pay full price for this room. There... More

We first went to Quebec City for our honeymoon in February, 2005. We stayed at the Frontenac. We went again for our 2nd anniversary, and my 50th bday. We have been to this beautiful city 6 times now, visiting different hotels, and spent our last visit at Le Champlain last February. Our room was a nice big room with a... More

We stayed at Le Champlain Hotel in June of 2011. After seeing photos of Quebec City at Christmas, my spouse and I decided to return in December for a weekend with our college age children. A big surprise! The hotel is a 5 minutes walk away from the Centre des congrès, the room was very spacious and breakfast (fruits, yogourt, eggs, baked beans, bagels, cereals...) was more than enough. I will certainly go back. More
