My wife and I spent two wonderful nights with Esther and Dave on their Green Hectares farm. We stayed in a converted red barn just steps from their farmhouse. The farm is literally on the doorstep of Swift Current, as the city has grown out to meet it.

As city folk, we loved the oppotunity to chat with Esther and Dave about life on the farm. Dave keeps tropical fish, so when he heard that we were fellow tropical fish enthusiasts, he gave us a tour of his fish room. The B&B guests have use of the basement family room in the farmhouse, which has three lovely aquariums, TV, fireplace and lots of seating. A cooked breakfast each day is served in the farmhouse, with fruit, bacon and eggs, toast and preserves. Every time we came into the house, Esther offered us a cup of tea or coffee.

We stayed in a spacious ensuite unit which had a queen-sized bed, a sofa and a dining table with four chairs. The unit does not have its own control for heating/air conditioning... more
