I live in the City of Whitehorse and enjoy the mountain views and urban wildlife viewing on a day to day basis, but I often forget to relax while enjoying this beautiful place that I call home. The Sundog Retreat was the PERFECT close to town get away. The "Cranberry" cabin was the perfect setting for the romantic escape my... More

Our family visited in February for a chance (successful!) to glimpse the northern lights. It was a last minute trip, as we had originally planned for Alaska. Heather and Andrew Finton were great - helpful, warm, generous, and friendly, all while being unintrusive. Their two lodge assistants were equally welcoming and helpful. As we booked late, we could only manage... More

The cabin was spotless. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful. 15-20 deer came across the field in the evening and were not bothered by us being there. Very nice experience. Thank You. It was well worth the extra 10 minute drive.

A group of 12 of us rented 2 cabins and had a brilliant stay. The cabins are really cosy and we had a BBQ then hit the hot tub the first night, then made use of the campfire the second night. The owners are really helpful, made the fire for us and even came and knocked on our front door... More

I've been to Sundog Retreat several times, for work or week-ends, and in both cases I come back home so relaxed I feel like I went on a week-long holiday even though it was just for a night. The cabins are very peaceful, and the hot tub and sauna add to the enjoyment of the stay. I'll remember to bring... More

This was first time to visit Whitehorse, the purpose is to view northern lights. Transportation, dog sledding tour, winter clothing were arranged perfectly by exchanging emails, airport pick-up re-arranged since we missed our original flight and arrived very late at midnight, even asking us if anything to get at grocery store prior to our arrival. The staff was kindly stopped... More

Sundog is about 20 minutes away from downtown. Easy to find. We stayed in Cranberry cabin for 2 nights. Huge windows facing North, the perfect place to view Northern Lights. We can literally view Northern Lights from our cabin very comfortably. Cabin is spotless clean, a welcoming basket of breakfast items. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, extremely clean bathroom. Open... More

Once again we had a fabulous stay at Sundog. Fuzzy Crocus was full so we took the larger Fireweed Cabin for just two of us. Fireweed would be perfect for 2 couples or family of 4-6. Clean, bright, well-stocked kitchen supplies, strong heat source. Hot tub and sauna and shower building are excellent amenities, and not used that much by... More

A friend of mine and I drove from Haines, AK, to have a night under the Aurora, or at least enjoy the crispy, snowy winter with our Canadian neighbors. The accommodation was just perfect--a sweet, small kitchen with just the amenities we needed; a basket of breakfast items; living room with comfy futon; and the bed in the back room... More

Just recently returned from a three night stay in the Fuzzy Crocus cabin at Sundog Retreat. The plan was to hopefully view the Northern Lights. We succeeded. Each night the Lights became progressively better as we watched from our bedroom window. And just as importantly we would have enjoyed Sundog without the Lights. The cabin, location, and the great hospitality... More
