We've just got back from staying three nights in the cottage at Southern Forest Accommodation. It was so lovely. Barbara and Steve have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, from the wonderful homemade jams, to the extra helping of homemade bread! The cottage has two bedrooms, one with bunks, so you could easily have two couples or a... More

Thank you for your positive review! Good to hear that what we're doing is appreciated. I'll be working on more plant labels this year and look forward to talking native plants if you visit again :-) More

Our Stay here at Southern Forest was fantastic, Our hosts Barbara and Steve were great and very keen to share info of the local area. The rooms were great, beautiful and clean even though it is a communial bathroom and living area, we were the only ones there at the time, with nice verandah overlooking the garden and a pleasant... We stayed here for three nights. We were supplied home made bread. The cottage is spacious, has a gas BBQ on the balcony and is close to the local attractions like Hastings Cave

We stayed here for three nights. Barbara and Steve were great hosts. We were supplied home made bread and the fire was going nicely when we arrived. The cottage is spacious and easy to heat once the fire is up and running. There was a nice outdoor eating area with gas BBQ. It was quite close to Hastings Cave and... More

If you have kids, or just want a lovely relaxing cottage, then don't miss Southern Forest Cottage. We stayed for 4 nights and could have easily stayed longer. There's so much to do in this area with the kids - we'll go back next year to finish all the things we didn't get to! The cottage is superb - lots... More

We were welcomed by Steve. He is one of the friendliest hosts we have ever met. The cottage was in an immaculate condition- spacious rooms, very clean bathroom and a very chic kitchen. It is a pity that we couldn't explore the beautiful forest surrounding the cottage as we stayed there only for a night. Did we say the bread... More

I spent 4 nights at Southern Forest, with my Mum. The cottage was wonderfully clean and well-equipped, and sitting in privacy amongst the beautiful trees and bushes. The cost included cereals, fruit, free-range eggs, tea (leaf/bag), coffee (instant/plunger), juice, milk, home made bread, a well-stocked wood heater (all set). Beds were soft, clean, comfy; plenty of games/movies/cds. BBQ provided, plus... More

This quite new well-insulated cottage (hand-built by the friendly owners) was not only fully equipped but also generously serviced with firewood, fresh baked bread, home made jams, eggs, butter, milk and plunger coffee. Quiet warm comfy & private. Even better than it looks on the webpage and a great spot to radiate to local attractions. (Note no wireless, mobile reception,... More

We stayed in the self-contained cottage at Southern Forest Accommodation for 2 nights and wish we had stayed more. The cottage has been decorated beautifully including lovely furnishings, and included breakfast provisions (including yummy home-baked bread, jam, fruit, muesli and eggs), and comfortable beds. It felt really homely, kind of rustic and modern at the same time, and was a... More

We stayed in the B&B, which is a wing of hosts Steve and Barbara’s house. It is very well appointed and very comfortable – we had a great night’s sleep. The hosts’ living area is quite separate, and they were very welcoming and even showed us the separate cabin, which is also very well appointed (great bathroom and kitchen) and... More
