I don't know why anyone would say this hotel is 'good value for money'. You really do get what you pay for. We paid $32 to stay here one night- and thats the only positive thing I can say. The TV probably wasn't even worth $32! The room shook when people walked past, everything in the room was broken, the... more

Rolled into Sth Lake Tahoe Fri night for some boarding with a couple friends. We always drive down the main drag to the Casinos, then head a block off the main road to all the bargain hotels. We found this one, and I was amazed when I was told the nightly rate was $40!! We just needed a place to... more

Stayed there in August, after several days of camping. Very nice place not much more expensive than a campground, less than $50 for 2 queens with AC. A bargain compared to similar hotels in the area. Oldish but management tries hard to keep you happy. Rena (the manager) was very helpful with area bargains and sights. more

This is an old 1* motel located right by Harveys Casino. I got a bargain rate of $32 for a midweek summer stay. Since there were no queen bed rooms available, I was upgraded to a spa room for this price. The proprietors are friendly and do a good job maintaining this old property. You get passes to a private... more

My recent stay at the Alpine Inn & Spa proves the challenge in finding clean, quite and reasonably priced rooms in the South Lake Tahoe (Stateline) area. The Traveler's Discount Guide listed this and 2 other properties at special coupon rates. One look, and I passed on the dumpy Rodeway Inn which was about a block ahead of Alpine Inn... more

This motel should be rated by this forum in the top 10 motels in lake tahoe. We have stayed here many times over the years and it is a very CLEAN @ NICE place. John the owner is a great guy, and irene and roni are very nice people. Rooms are clean, linens were great, and rooms are warm in... more

Well, what can I say. When making the reservations, the clerk, Jonathan, was very accommodating. I explained that we were coming to Tahoe for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. He told me he would give us his 2nd favorite room because the favorite room is reserved for 2 weeks - good sign - I thought. All I expected was a clean... more

I couldn't get over how RUDE the desk person Irene was. Then I passed by the back of the office on my way to the room and can you believe she lives in the back of it?!? I got charged over $100 bucks for a room full of roaches! I had to wait until close to 6 PM to check... more

I was amazed at how well the manager handled the people who were not happy...she was very calm and did what she could. and all before I even checked in to my room. I stayed in a spa room which was very clean and romantic. We had a wonderful valentine's day. Although the pool was frozen (it is winter) the... more

The worst motel I have ever stayed in in my entire life. The "Spa" rooms are so small that they have clothes racks inside the bathrooms, in front of the toilets (!). Our bathroom did not have heating system and was always freezing. The bathtub, the "spa", is cramped into the sleeping area. The worst part, was the service. The... more
