We stayed for two nights. The room was big (despite the dimensions of the rooms in hotels in Copenhaga, for example), has a double bed and a sofa. Although the shower it was small and with just a curtain, it was ok. The room is a bit austere, but you don’t need anything more. The tv has chrome cast so you can use your phone apps to see a movie (if you have the energy after Legoland). The parking is free. The breakfast was good, diversified enough.

We stayed for 2 nights because we were visiting Legoland. We arrived after midnight and I was surprised to see that there were almost no lights on anywhere. Reception was also closed and we saw a note on the door that the keys were in the room, our name and room number. It took us quite some time to find the room in the black darkness outside. Hotel has several buildings so rooms are more like motel style. Otherwise room was OK, it had all the basics, it was warm, but the lights outside the buildings and at the room doors must be fixed. If you arrive late at night there is basically no light to see anything, everything is black. Aside of that we were pleasantly surprised that breakfast was nice, there was a playground outside and the staff was nice and welcoming. It is a good alternative if you are there to visit Legoland, cheaper than the hotels that are closer to Legoland, but 10 min driving is not that bad.

We stayed here for 3 nights, firstly can I say the staff at this hotel could not be nicer, I had a breakdown and they moved heaven and earth to help me get this problem sorted, a first effort by them and I can’t thank them enough. To the hotel, lovely location plenty of parking and good WiFi though out, we used the restaurant all 3 nights food was buffet style, and very good quality and in my opinion good value for money, breakfast included also very good and plenty of choice, this is included in the rate. My only complaint would be the rooms could be a lot cleaner ours was dirty from previous occupant and the 3 days we where there it was never hoovered, towels where changed only once, both me and my wife suffered several bites, and we both suffered a lot from this, again I put this down to room cleaning,it’s not done to the standard of this hotel, the public areas and restaurant are spotless just the rooms need more cleaning. I would have brought this matter to the attention of reception staff but they where so helpful to me with my breakdown I did not like to. Guys you have a great hotel with great reception staff great food and great dining room staff but you really do need new room cleaners who need to be taught how to clean and use disinfectant.

Nice rooms for pair, and small family. We were 2 adults and 3 kids, lived here for a week. A litle to small, since there was no floor area left for playing, but great for a couple days. Missed a fridge. We ended up buying a cooling box, and bought lunch at the grocery store. Nice bathroom but hairdryer, mirror, cabinet, shower, sink, toilet. Minus for a open hole in the roof after old bathroomfan, so there was a lot of spiders. The rooms had no aircondition,a plus for table fan. Waterboiler, cups, sugar, coffee and tea. Very nice playground with sand, play area, swings, trampoline, basketball field, ping pong table, and a big football field. Only 10minutes from Legoland, Lalandia, Billund Bath (Very Nice and cheap, and no queue in the waterslide, 210dkk for 5 persons vs 1400dkk in Lalandia). Approx 30minutes from Givskud Zoo. (recommend guided tour by bus om the park, 40dkk per person). Ok breakfast, cheap buffet, very good pizza. Very little variations on the buffet, so the kids got tired of the food and ate very little. Reccomend to download a valutacalculator to check prices, we paid over 2400dkk for 4 days dinner. Very nice staff.

Good location. Felt more like a motel, than a hotel with all the rooms leading to outside, but still a very quiet hotel. Nice big room, which was very clean. My only complaint was that the hotel as changed from having breakfast included, to be an option. This is fine, but my booking was made with breakfast included, but there was an attempt at check in to make me pay for breakfast.

Stayed here on last night of working week. Due to early flight next morning. As usual in Denmark everything was clean and fresh. The receptionist/ waitresses where pretty and professional. The rooms where motel style but again clean and fresh. We ate in the hotel that evening, food was tasty and fresh. Breakfast was amazing. Check this place out as airport only minutes away.

Like many small hotels at the Danish countryside, Hotel Svanen is more like a motel, - with doors to the rooms placed outside. The room itself was a bit old fashioned, and could need some refurbishment, - but it was clean and comfortable. The restaurant had a limited menu, but the dinner was delicious (as often in Denmark)! The area was very quiet, even with an open window. Reasonable value for money! Recommended.

Like almost all hotels in area it is advertised as close to Legoland, but don't be fooled, hotel located in around 10-11 kilometers from Billund and Legoland there and this the main reason why prices at this hotel are lower a bit, so if you planning visits there be aware, that you will need car, or use public transport of some sort, and the latter is not too often seen by me in that area. Also hotel technically located in Grindsted, but in fact to get to the center, or even to the town itself you will need to have a good walk of around 2.5-3.5 kilometers one way - also most likely public transport to other locations like Billund departs from the city (I've seen free shuttle bus couple of times) so if you using it you will have to walk there first anyway. As for hotel itself - it is clean and very quite (since it located almost in the middle of nowhere so too speak), it looks like some kind of rebuilt farm buildings, or built anew in a such way to remind it. Rooms are mostly located in the buildings detached from main one, each room has separate entrance to the outside. Rooms not overly big but of sufficent size, but quite dark as only window is quite small, as well as lighting like in most danish hotels I've stayed is a bit dull due to use of power saving lamps in the most of fixtures. Room was equipped with iron, electric kettle, complimentary tea, coffee and sweets, electric fan (no air conditioning), big bathroom. As in one of the previous reviews mentioned ant traps are set all over the room, since hotel in the fields, but not much of ants noticed. Large outside area with football pitch and decent playground for smaller kids, trampoline without guards preventing smaller kids to jump off accidientaly though, present as well. Beds were OK, breakfast buffet is quite repetitive and not overabundant, on some days even fruits weren't served, coffee was quite bad as well, like it was brewed in big bucket for several days and stayed there for all that period - but it seems the same for all free or cheap coffee in Denmark, in Legoland it was same your discounted coffee with Season Pass (DKK10 against usual price of DKK20) is scooped out of big bucket, rather prepared fresh from coffee machines like more expensive ones. In overall if you are travelling by car it maybe a good and less expensive choice for Legoland visit, otherwise I would recommend to stay somewhere in Billund as logistics maybe an issue without a car.

I stayed here the night before a flight. The cost of the hotel is expensive for what it is. The buffet dinner is very expensive for what you get. Beer and wine are a crazy cost. The hotel is in a field, has ants and is very basic. The ownership has several hotels in the area and is capitalizing on being close to LegoLand. I would not stay here again.

Clean and tidy. A little bit too small rooms for a family of five, but everyone got their own bed. The big playground was a nice feature for the kids. Breakfast was simple, but ok with bread, cereal and waffles. I would have liked to have more fruits and veggies.
