Unfortunately we couldn't spend the night though, if the food and dining room were typical, I can only imagine the rooms are very pleasant indeed. We ate a sumptuous lunch there and were very well treated and the quality and presentation of French cuisine was excellent. A very clean environment with plenty of old-world charm and an excellent service ethic. Impossible to find fault.

We stoped in Lapalisse for one night on our way to the Pyrenees. The room was a standard one, a bit small but clean and very quiet at a fair price. Our Diner in the evening in the hotel's restaurant was very delicious. The staff was very friendly.

Just happened to come across this nice hotel when looking for somewhere to stop overnight after a long drive. This old building occupies a fine and once-prominent spot on a wide street (formerly the main N7 route north-south) opposite the Hotel de Ville. The town now has a bypass so it was fairly quiet. Just 2 mins walk away is the lovely chateau and the small town centre is just round the corner. The staff were friendly, the room clean though the bed was very squeaky and a bit too soft. Shower room en-suite though only provided 1 bath-towel for the 2 of us. Toilet had a bizarre vacuum-flush system. The hotel's restaurant was superb with great food, and a terrific wine list. Service was excellent. There is also a bar.
