After we picked up our hire car, my husband and I arrived late in the afternoon to a very friendly welcome from the manager of the complex. The accommodation was a very tasteful refurbished hotel style room with a spa bath bathroom. It had a small table and two chairs and this was appreciated as we were able to eat... more

I stayed at Alkira Darwin for the first time recently. My three-night stay was a wonderful experience and I enjoyed every facet of it. Alkira, in its present form, has been operating for only 12 months. The property has been completely refurbished and the rooms are beautifully appointed with quality furnishings, fixtures & fittings. The gardens and grounds are truly... more

Worst place I have ever stayed, and so expensive. We paid $195 for a "twin room" which consisted of 2 beds a few inches apart, a small surface for making tea (the kettle etc were in the only drawers). The bathroom was so small that the door hung sideways and clattered whenever you went in. The manager was rude right... more

We booked a "two bedroom, two bathroom apartment". What we actually got was two small interconnecting motel rooms, which were serviced every fourth day. The bathrooms are cupboard sized, there is no kitchen and no sitting room. It is also quite far from the city so you definitely need a car. However, it is clean, the staff are friendly and... more

This place has the appearance of being ok from the outside but the moment you get in the door, you realise its not. The size of the bathroom requires you to open the door to dry yourself. Stains cover the carpet and the room is so small, it makes it difficult to walk around the bed. It is certainly not... more

Yes I agree the rooms are a bit small but about standard for a motel not an apartment. Service was friendly and offered to book tours for us and rang for cabs no problem. I prefer to be left alone so not being serviced everyday didn't worry me i asked for new towels and got em straight away. Great pool... more

Our plane arrived into Darwin at 1am I alerted the apartment through Wotif that we had a late arrival and I also gave our home phone number as I was not sure what time their reception desk closed. The shuttle bus dropped us off and then left. That was when the trouble started. The whole office and reception was in darkness.There... more

I have to agree with the previous poster. I booked this through my company for a business trip and was staying for 10 nights, which is 9 nights too long. Reception are friendly when you call and I was told I was being upgraded to an executive apartment for free which made me look forward to my stay. I didn't... more

Our "apartment" for 4(family suite) turned out to be 2 very small refurbished motel rooms with inter connecting door. There were no kitchen facilities, no living areas where 4 people could sit together let alone self cater.limited crockery was supplied and a toaster, microwave supplied on request.. Washing up had to be done in small bathroom basin. No detergent supplied. At... more
