Stayed here on as part of a short break and were not disappointed. The food when we ate in was just wonderful and matched by a very good winelist. Rooms are very spacious and breakfast a real treat each day. Geoff Smeddle and his wife are creating something wonderful is this corner of Fife and deserve high praise. Worth every... more

Firstly I think it is a good idea to discount some of the older reviews for this "Restaurant with rooms"- obviously there has been some refurbishment and in the 3 rooms I was in there was very little to fault (shaving mirror and stronger water pressure being about it). Otherwise the attention to detail was spectacular, huge split level room... more

Rooms are split level with the spacious lounge area with couch, table, tv, cd player, fresh fruit and ground coffee Very comfortable big bed and lovely, peaceful setting overlooking garden area. Bathroom, while very nice and exceptionally clean, was surprisingly a bit dated with worn gold fittings. The restaurant (in a separate building) food was very good (canapes + tasting... more

We stayed here on a 3 night DBB break and were not disappointed. The attentive and friendly nature of the staff combined with very comfortable rooms (2 storey suites) were first class. When we booked, the one reservation we had was the 'breakfast served in room' concept. However, this was absolutely superb, and added to the decadent feel of the... more

The most amazing ambience and food. This was a superb experience. My last visit was 4 years ago when David Wilson was at the helm. But must say Geoffrey Smeddle is better. The six course taster menu was out of this world. The staff were courteous and it was special.350 pounds for four people including aperitifs and 3 bottles of wine but will definitely go... more

Excellent food, friendly service and comfortable rooms doesn't quite say enough. The restaurant really aims high and approaches "The French Laundry" in many respects. Although the food quality was equal, some of the small details weren't yet quite as refined . However, the overall service, the low key ambiance and the adjacent lodging made the Peat Inn a more enjoyable... more

Really enjoyed everything about our meal here, the two of us were very well looked after and the food was wonderful and very local. The recommendations for us to go here were right on the spot. Presentation was outstanding and the wine list very good. more

Service was very attentive, the interior is a perfect setting for dinner, the extremely well cooked food was nicely presented (a tad too much on the small side), the amuse gueule was tepid (a handful of mushroom soup) but full of taste. Wine list is extensive & orientated on French and expensive whereas other areas are represented with very small... more

This was our second attempt to stay at the Peat Inn, as we had booked an earlier weekend which had to be aborted when they discovered that they had double booked us, much to our annoyance. However, the owners did agree to hold their winter rates open to us for a rescheduled weekend and provide a glass of pre dinner... more

Just returned from a surprise birthday present to the Peat inn. We could only make it for one night unfortunatley otherwise would have been happy to take up their current offer of 3 nights for the price of 2. We stayed in one of the suites, a split level room with Bed and bathroom on the ground floor and a... more
