I went to Girona (from London) for a weekend of cycling and visiting an old friend. Cycling was great on Saturday (www.gironacycling.com) but friend missed a flight and so I had to fend for myself for Sat night. Gareth from Girona Cycling puts up guests at this local inn. I wanted to stay in the Girona centre and enjoy some tapas and late night dining, but agreed that perhaps staying 20k out from the centre in a restored church / rectory could be interesting and restful after 120k of rolling, climbing riding. The room was wonderful - small, elegant, with sponge-daubed-painted walls in an angelic blue, dark wood floors, a spacious bathroom, best bed ever, free wifi.
