The best thing about the hotel is the location. Rooms are clean but old fashioned. Friendly staff when I could find them. I did not receive a welcome drink like 'highlanddave053'. The room was expensive (compared to the rest of Europe but by Swiss standards I guess the deal was OK (just)).

Very basic 70' design room with the standard room for 180 CHF. Hopfully the more expensive rooms are better.

Aarberg is a fine old town with the buildings arranged around a central plaza area, with an old covered bridge over the Aare River on the road to enter or leave the old town. Lovely old town entered by ancient covered bridge. Hotel has some lovely rooms. Ours was very spacious and comfortable. For peace and quiet probably best to ask for a room at the back. Food good and staff friendly and helpful.
