I don’t know really where to start. Ritchie is charming but had other things going on so wasn’t around much. There were only 5 of us staying but the 3-4 kitchen staff showed up between 6:30 to seven everyday to prepare a mediocre breakfast by 9 am. I could do that better in 45 minutes. Yanique was nice but the other staff were not friendly and spent most of their days sitting on the couch on TikTok. We apparently bought and paid for $52 US for fruits but all I saw was a large bunch of bananas for that money. There’s nothing to do nearby, if I walk up the street folks yell whiteman. We were not the victims of any crime. I would like to make that clear, but my son is and SIL are both 6’3 so maybe that helped. We spent a fortune and could have gone somewhere nice instead. This was the worst experience of my life. I am European not from the USA, so I can hack a little rough.

stayed here for a week with my parents and family in Feb. 2022. Accommodations where great. could not believe how nice the rooms where. The food was amazing. Loved the gardens and the patio by the sea. Not in a tourist area so it was all the more special. A truly special place and cannot recommend it enough. Really was a magical experience. Whole venue was clean and sanitary. Richie was able to arrange Covid tests needed for travel back to the US with no problem.

There are two things that make this place perfect: the location and the people. First, the location. It’s right by the water in a more rural area (the “real Jamaica,” as one local put it), far away from standard tourist traps. There were days I was the only person in the water, and it’s one of the most peaceful and relaxing vacations I’ve ever had. At the same, it’s close enough to other beaches and more touristy areas that you don’t feel like you’re missing out. The villa itself is adorable—rustic and cozy but also clean and well-kept. I spent hours reading in the hammock on the third floor deck in the morning and stargazing by the water at night, and I loved being able to cook in the kitchen and have my morning coffee out by the water. I stocked up on groceries, had several meals prepared by the staff, and ate out a couple times--the food was always great. Second, the staff and hospitality are phenomenal. Ben and Richie are absolute heroes, and Richie lives on site and will take care of anything you need. The neighborhood is extremely safe, and everyone I met was super friendly. The other guests were also great; I visited Coral Cottage to have a week away to myself, but I ended up spending several nights playing cards with the other guests, taking a trip with them to a beach in Negril, and even enjoying a Thanksgiving meal together. Even though I was there alone, I didn’t feel isolated or lonely and had the perfect balance of solitude and socializing. The only regret I have is that I declined the villa’s airport pickup option and rented a car instead. Not only did the car rental company (National/Thrifty) charge me double in hidden fees, but I got THREE flat tires trying to get to Coral Cottage on my first day. Richie was a lifesaver and changed my tires; at one point, he went on foot to find a nearby tire shop and came back carrying a tire on his shoulder. Later, he took me and the other guests (who also got a flat) to a nearby tire shop to get our tires fixed (luckily it was only $5 each!). As a solo female traveler, I wasn’t looking forward to driving back to the airport and risking another flat, so Richie offered to drive my rental to the airport and take a cab back to the villa, going way beyond customer service you would find anywhere else. I would have saved a lot of time, energy, and money if I had booked the airport transfer through Coral Cottage. But even with those hiccups, I still had an amazing time and can’t wait to go back. Overall, this place left me with the kind of experience that stays in your blood. I've travelled all over the world, and not every place becomes a part of you. But after a week at Coral Cottage, I feel deeply connected to Jamaica, like I found a new home away from home. It's a place that's good for the soul.

We spent the last week in October at Coral Cottage in Jamaica. It was paradise! Little Bay is beautiful and out of the tourist traps. The villa was gorgeous and the staff were amazing. We have been at least 11 times and this trip was the best. We can’t thank Ritchie enough for his gracious hospitality. No need to go to Rick’s as the sunsets are phenomenal here. Day trips to the Blue Hole, the bat cave and Bob Marley’s spring were great. The owner was easy to deal with and made sure our needs were few. Counting the days until we can return!

I stayed at Coral Cottage for 3 night with 6 friends to celebrate my birthday and it was fantastic! Little Bay is well suited for those looking for a relaxing, authentic Jamaican experience as it is far outside the touristy/resort areas. The property had an amazing seaside pool and you are able to jump right into the ocean with good snorkeling. Richie is a super host and is there for all your requests and to hang out! He spent an afternoon showing us the nearby bat cave and mineral spring, and offered to take me night spear fishing...although I chickened out! I would recommend having meals prepared at the Cottage if you don't want to transport a lot of food and cook for yourself-the two dinners we had were great ($30 pp). We also ate at Tikis up the road, but you must like chicken! Make sure to get all groceries/alcohol/cash before arriving to Little Bay. The highlight of the trip was our boat day with Richie-he took us to a deserted beach and cooked a fresh fish/lobster lunch right over the fire-he even brought some champagne for a birthday toast which was so thoughtful. Go in the early morning and experience crystal water that blends into the horizon-gorgeous! He also prepared a bonfire by the ocean that night which was great. Ask him to teach you the stick game we taught him :) I would highly recommend Coral Cottage as a great place to stay in Jamaica and hope to visit again one day!

A house is not a home without love: Coral Cottage is a home which welcomes you into a family who go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, safe, and cared for. The rural site provides for a landscape with no hotels, no ambient light so stars at night are magnificent and small adventures are within walking distance to bat caves or Bob Marley's meditation site/secret spring with chilling water. The roads are full of pot holes and no shops In walking distance other than a basket weaver and a great fried jerk chicken stand. (Little London is only 11 k away and has good grocery store and money exchange.) But perhaps the best is Richie and his family who maintain the house, pool overlooking the rocky coastline, and gardens in such fine fashion. It does not have fancy decor and eating is on a porch overlooking the garden...but the bedrooms are well equipped, bathrooms very large with tubs and showers, and good AC. If you can, be sure and hire Shiney to make a dinner or breakfast. Her knowledge of French and Jamaican cuisine is amazing, her heart goes into each delicious dish. Her porridge with coconut milk is too good for words. Richie welcomes you, orients you and provides the oversight that makes the most of this setting. We were worried about safety especially as we are a rainbow family. Benjamin was great in answering all our questions and Richie and his family made each of our family feel special. Richie's support during the stay allayed all fears. The all were particularly good with our grandkids, finding ways to make the next day alluring. If you are looking for a large hotel with all the amenities, this is not for you. But if you want to feel part of a village, meet locals, and be in an environment that is rare to find today, Coral Cottage is what I recommend.

I absolutely loved my stay at the coral cottage. Our family stayed for a wedding nearby. It’s the perfect marriage between a local experience and a hotel room. There’s AC, hot water, someone comes and makes your bed for you, it’s wonderfully decorated, clean, etc... but the best part was richie!! He took us around to some local places and we had such a blast! He made us feel right at home and took great care of us. If you stay here, I would highly recommend getting a few meals cooked by them. You get a taste of the local food, and you don’t have to worry about finding meals elsewhere! My husband and I have diet restrictions, and they worked great with it. Every morning I had a tough decision of reading in the hammock on the deck, taking a dip in the pool, or meditating out next to the ocean during sunrise haha! It is located a little farther out than the popular tourist locations, but it’s well worth it! You’re always safe with Richie and there is PLENTY to do!

This location was easily the highlight of our Jamaican destination wedding trip. We spent a day at the all-inclusive resort as part of family wedding, but honestly it was Coral Cottage that made us feel like we actually visited Jamaica! Richie runs Coral Cottages and took us on an awesome tour around the area when we had a free day - seriously amazing! I HIGHLY recommend the food at Coral Cottages - everything was amazing, and they even accommodated (at great difficulty to them) our family members who are vegan and gluten-free. Such a great experience! This is NOT a traditional resort - it's a very authentic Jamaican villa :-)

Coral Cottage was definitely not in a "main stream" location, but if you're looking to ACTUALLY get away, this place is the best! Richie (the grounds keeper) is like the mayor of Little Bay. If we were out & about & needed anything, we could say he sent us & we may as well have been true locals. RICHIE!! YOU DA MAN!!
