Booked only a couple of days in advance, the welcome started within minutes with a cheery e-mail from Helen. We were looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful but reasonably close to Cardiff. All criteria were fulfilled at Plas Hen. Within a mile of the main road, but accessed through narrow lanes, it was really quiet. The room was clean and... More

Spent two nights here. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and wish it could have been for longer! Helen was a great host and very friendly. Good cooked breakfasts and nothing too much trouble. Having wonderful weather and being in beautiful countryside certainly helped to make an excellent weekend here. Great location for Cardiff and within walking distance of bus stop. Other... More

Booked this at the last minute but had an excellent 3 nights. Excellent accommodation and welcome. We were delighted with the area too. Close to some wonderful beaches; small towns and Cardiff so Plas Hen provided a great base for our exploring

A 5star hotel could not have offered better hospitality. Helen a wonderful hostess who organised everything for us from champagne to a taxi into Cowbridge. Clean well appointed rooms stunning lounge with a warming wood burner. Breakfast in a large kitchen where we all sat together. It really was home from home.We had a wonderful stay and are looking forward... More

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Plas Hen. I stayed here the night before I flew back home to the States, and I chose Plas Hen because I wanted something quiet and scenic on my last night in the UK but close to Cardiff airport. And Plas Hen fit the bill perfectly - I only wish I had known... More

Plas Hen was a delight to stay and the reason why I prefer B&Bs over hotels. Helen is a very friendly, helpful and kind host, who truly makes you feel at home. She was very willing to assist us at any turn and offered great knowledge about the area, not to speak a sumptuous breakfast. The B&B is a lovely... More

Helen's hospitality is simply splendid. The location of Plas Hen is wonderful, so close to Cardiff and the coast and yet seemingly in the middle of nowhere in an absolutely stunning place with beautiful walks right from the doorstep. Our room was spotlessly clean, spacious, quiet and with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was delicious! Will definitely be back for an... More

PLas Hen is a lovely B&B - the rooms are are a really good size and our bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very roomy and the room had everything you would need. But the best thing is that it is in a very rural setting, which is quiet and restful. Helen is very welcoming and friendly and... More

At the time of writing, I am sitting in the lounge looking out onto the beautiful garden at Plas Hen Guest House. Helen , the wonderful, friendly, super organised, morning loving, owner of the B&B has just brought me welsh cakes and tea. We came here to rest, retreat and so I could crack into my dissertation- and it could... More
