The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was of a good size, with a comfortable bed and very clean. However it could do with updating. That said, it was excellent value for money - which included a very good breakfast. I would certainly stay here again.

First impressions on arrival were good - downstairs the reception and restaurant area looked quite inviting. However after climbing the narrow staircase to the room and finding it lacked any sort of sparkle we started to have doubts. The room was quite shabby and in need of a makeover. We decided to eat in the restaurant - a big mistake.... More

Lovely old Inn dating back to the 18th century. helpfull welcoming staff. The room was clean, lovely and warm and the bed was really comfortable. We ate dinner there and the food was very good. My Fiance had loin of pork with saute potatoes. the meat was tender and moist. I had cod and chips. The fish was very white... More

Having stayed at quite a few establishments on business trips, I would rate this one as probably bottom of the list. I know for the cost of the room I shouldn't expect much but I have had for the same price or even less, a lot better. I was given a room in the annexe. The windows were old sash... More

Our room in the annexe was so small you had to breath in to get round the double (not kingsize) bed. Key features of the room were torn curtains, a cracked sink, detatchable bathroom fittings and a rhythmithical window frame. Optional additions were the used bath cap left by a previous occupant and the hum from the next room's extractor... More

I had the distinct pleasure of spending a night at the Ship & Bell, a small hotel just outside of Havent UK. Clean and tidy with an added bonus of some shortbread biscuits, tea and coffee waiting in the room. The inn keepers were very pleasant and overall it felt like I stepped into a well worn little.

Got a room in the annex building, it was clean and very comfortable, not the biggest room in the world but it at everything you needed. Flat screen TV, wifi, tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits. Best part was the breakfast in the morning, try the scrabbled eggs and salmon! Overall I was very happy

We stayed here overnight on 17th sept and thought this hotel was excellent value. The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was a bother to them. After normal food service time they still went out of their way to make something for us. We stayed in room 1 and found it large, clean and the bed very comfortable. Would... More

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, offered to take bags to room, room very clean although decor a bit tired - we were in the annexe. Easy to find, excellent pub menu available. The breakfast included cereal, fruit, toast, yoghurt followed by full english breakfast (we had the full english veggie breakfast which was excellent). We have stayed at Travelodges... More

We stayed in an annex from the pub a walk across the car park. Not good if its bad weather and no brollies available if raining. Room was basic, tired and in need of a complete refurbishment. The mattresses needed replacement as they were very soft and saggy. We had a twin room, the beds didn't even match. The first... More
