Jayne and Chris have set up a fantastic getaway B and B. The location is stunning and the whole set up is friendly with first class service. We will be returning for a longer stay in the future.Just watch the calories in Jayne;s home made cake it's very moorish.

Neither of us had been to the IoW since childhood so finding a b&b was never going to be an exact science. It will be from now on - we fell in love with the Hermitage, in its tranquil surroundings with gorgeous views south toward the Downs and the nightly drive back through the fields and the badgers. Loads of... More

Last year my wife underwent brain surgery to remove a tumour. She is not able to commit to a "holiday" at present, so we are making short breaks to nice hotels. Most of them have been booked through Travelzoo. I am now catching up with the reviews on Tripadvisor. We live on the Isle of Wight and booked the Hermitage... More

My wife and I have just returned a wonderful few days at this superb bed and breakfast. As keen walkers and nature lovers, the house on St Catherine's Down gave us the perfect location, with beautiful scenery and fantastic views. We really appreciated the peace and quiet and traffic-free walks on the many local footpaths. The accommodation was of the... More

Chris and Jane made sure we will feel at home, the rooms were lovely, breakfast was amazing and the views from our window were out of this world. when the sun is out and if you are a person who enjoys hiking that's the place for you. It's not close to the water front but assuming you brought a car... More

Gorgeous farmhouse, Jayne was the most amazing host, very friendly and attentive, and her Victoria sponge was to die for. Breakfast on both mornings was worth getting up for too. Our first visit to the island and we will be back again. Thank you again Jayne for a wonderful stay Dubravka & Steve x

Fantastic weekend away at Hermitage Court Farm. Arrived in one of the most "tucked away" places on the Isle of Wight for our 25th wedding anniversary. What a fantastic location. The views are amazing. Jayne greeted us when we arrived and made us the most light and fluffy sponge cake served in the dinning room. We sat in the window... More

Chris and Jayne made our stay really relaxing. We arrived and were greeted with tea and delicious home made cake. Our room, the Niton suite was perfect. En-suite bathroom had an excellent powerful shower, best one so far! Sky tv, fridge, milk and tea. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice too. Managed to see two of the local badgers as well.... More

Our second visit to HCF. Nothing has changed- Jayne and Chris , the perfect hosts , provide an unrivalled service. Spotless surroundings, great breakfasts, comfortable room. This time we had extras! We arrived on the IoW on Monday 11th March, in a snowstorm! We managed to get halfway up the Hermitage Trail before the ice on the road brought us... More

What a fantastic weekend! We stayed for two nights at Hermitage Court Farm and we were blown away. From the moment we arrived Jayne and Chris made us feel welcome. Tea and cake was the first indication that we were in for something special. Scrumtious jam cream sponge in the dinning room overlooking, what must be the most spectacular view... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hermitage Court Farm is the Isle of Wight’s most secluded and tranquil Bed and Breakfast accommodation: the ideal place in which to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern living and relax for a while between the green of the downs and the blue of the sky, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.Perched cosily under the tops of the National Trust’s St Catherine’s Down, and gazing down over the beautiful rural Isle of Wight countryside towards the waters of the Solent, the ten-acre Farm is hidden away, well off beaten tracks and more than a mile from the nearest main road, on the southern side of the Island. From here, and from the Downs at our doors, you can see everything ... yet hear nothing but the odd rabbit thumping across the lawn, a pigeon chortling, or the woodpeckers dining in the trees. Our peaceful surroundings, however, hide the opportunity for plenty of action. The Downs of the isle of Wight are full of history-from ancient burial mounds and a medieval lighthouse to one of Britain’s most amusing Victorian follies - and full of opportunities for leisurely exploration. A network of the Island’s well-known bridleways and footpaths crosses various parts of the property, and there is direct access to over a hundred miles of the finest and best-maintained footpaths, riding tracks and mountain-bike trails in Britain.A twenty-minute stroll across the Downs (or a very much shorter car trip) brings you to the nearby village of Niton, with its charming shops and friendly pubs, while a little further on you come to the famously picturesque village of Godshill with its much-photographed thatched roofs and celebrated cream teas. The Isle of Wight coastal towns of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor - famous as holiday venues from Victorian times -- with their glorious beaches and their cliff walks are just a short drive away. ... more   less
