My wife and I arranged to stay at the Kings Arms as a result of a special deal for her birthday. Now, her birthday is 14th February. Yes, Valentine's Day. We booked for one night and for dinner in the restaurant. As far as we could tell, there was no premium for Valentine's Day: a good start. Having a birthday... More

My wife and I have just spent a very enjoyable one night stay with this lovely Inn set in Rutland countryside. This 17th century Inn, set in a very small village is a little gem. Everyone there made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. A special thanks to Kathy who contantly asked whether everything was ok... More

Reserved a table by telephone and spoke with a rather curt and brusk manner, almost to the point that we were deciding not to go. The food was good. On paying the bill (£80 for 3 min courses, coffee and 3 glasses of wine) were dealt with in a curt manner and no thank you or smile. We will try... More

Cosy, with a gorgeous open fire. The food is wonderful, from traditional dishes to something a bit different. I am always spoilt for choice and never disappointed. Its just what you want from a rural pub with locally sourced ingredients and everything made from scratch. Great range of drinks too. Highly recommend a visit. More

Thank you for your kind words. We also love where we are, the community we are part of and the trade we have chosen. It's great to be central to rural village life with all its quirks, highs and lows. Surrounded as we are by wonderful countryside it would be a crime to ignore the produce that is on our... More

Quite simply the best food you will find in Rutland. A remarkable establishment, where the chef has a clear appreciation and commitment to what he is doing. The propieters live and breathe food, whether it be baking fresh warm sourdough for the evening service, curing hams, hot smoking eels, cold smoking fish or poaching game. Every dish leaving the kitchen... More

We were part of a family group that had booked every room in the pub. We had a very comfortable night, spent many hours in the bar with good real ale and had a delicious breakfast next morning. What more could you want from a hotel? More
