Just returned from a two night Groupon stay and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. The staff were marvellous providing that extra little touch that really makes a holiday.Although a lot of work was in progress that did n't detract from our enjoyment and I'm sure it will look great by now. Good position by the river and very handy for... More

Booked this wonderful Pub on line and was unsure of what to expect. The position of the pub was really nice, close to the river on a quiet road The room was fantastic with lovely big towels and all the usual bits and pieces including a hair drier, kettle etc( different kinds of tea, coffee coco) All the staff were... I will start by saying this was a groupon deal but I would have no problems whatosever in paying the full price! We travelled to Northumberland as 2 couples for a 1 night stay. On arrival we were greeted (as part of the deal) with a glass of wine each, a fabulous welcome we sat, relaxing by the log fire,... More

Although National Trust property food is usually excellent quality the prices can be over the top so as members who visit quite a number of properties in the year we endeavour to find a pub for a nice pint and a light lunch close by. Today we drove to Cragside from Leeds a distance of 126 miles and we passed... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Anglers Arms and could not have been treated better. From the moment we arrived Dawn was lovely, she was so friendly and welcoming. Also the owner Julie was welcoming and friendly. They went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Our room was very nice and the food was excellent. We... More

Received a very warm welcome. Room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Excellent choice of refreshments including home made biscuits. Breakfast delicious including Craster Kippers and local smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The pub it's self is themed around hunting, fishing and shooting. It's interior has original panelling and old call bells still in place, they have an excellent menu... More

All the family went for Sunday lunch, the service was poor the food tepid and I always give an honest opinion I've only ever given 2 negative reviews its a shame as the area is very nice,I paid well over the odds for a bottle of Shiraz also Try elsewhere !

After being repeatedly happy with the quality and service at the Anglers Arms, we decided to have our wedding reception there. Thirty guests turned up and 30 guests left thoroughly happy and impressed. As usual, the quality and service was perfect. The staff had laid out the room perfectly and we couldn't have been happier. We also took the opportunity... More
