With fine views over the salt marshes on this ever-changing coastline, the mill, originally used to grind wheat for flour, nestles by the old quay, alongside the flint-walled cottages of the village. Of interesting note, prior to its conversion to a B&B, the windmill was once owned by Charles and Jane Blount (parents the singer and songwriter James Blunt). Staying... More

We arrived on the Friday evening at the start of a bank holiday weekend. Our journey was delayed through heavy bank holiday traffic and, as we had booked dinner and realised we would not make the given time, we rang ahead to inform our hosts. On arrival, having missed dinner, we were greeted warmly by a member of staff, shown... More

Probably one of the most original places I've stayed at, full of atmosphere and originality. Food was really good, one of the best steaks I've had in a long time and breakfast to die for, particularly the smoked Haddock (special order) & poached egg. The Mills' position is fantastic, just a short walk from the coastal path and village centre.

We were married at Cley Mill five years ago and had a wonderful time then and when we returned to stay for our first anniversary. It is such a unique venue in a beautiful location and you feel like you have stepped into an environment which is so relaxing it is truly refreshing even on a short visit. Five years... More

I stayed here for two nights in May as a break from the city. It is really peaceful. I went walking along the coast path to Cromer one day which is a fantastic walk.. The breakfast was very good and freshly cooked. One small gripe was the staff cooking the food need to realise that everyone in the dining room... More

Four of us stayed here for just one night in April and we also had the evening meal. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable and clean. We immediately went for a long walk on the marshes which are within minutes of the windmill down to the desolate beach. The only sound were the many different birds. Both the... More

My husband booked us in here for a surprise weekend. From the moment we pulled up I was blown away. I've always loved windmills and never thought I'd stay in one! We were in the wheel room right at the top of the windmill, the bathroom was a bit chilli & the shower a little bit rubbish, but the views... More

Had our wedding at the Windmill and from first contact last August to the day itself, everything was perfect. Simon and Charlotte are superb managers, everyone was very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Cley is a fantastically romantic place, perfect for a small intimate wedding, the rooms are welcoming yet still have a quaint feel and... More

From first point of contact by telephone, and subsequent e-mails, just knew we were going to enjoy our time at Cley Mill. From time of arrival to departure, all staff were so helpful and attentive. River Room first night, and Stone Room the second night - both well equipped, clean, and good quality bedding. Cosy restaurant for breakfasts and evening... More

What a wonderful two night stay at this quite beautiful windmill, culminating in the wedding of our son. Its a special venue for a special occasion. All the rooms in the windmill are just amazing. The food was really nice and the staff went out of their way to make the big day go without any drama's. My wife and... More

Thank you so much for your kind comments - much appreciated. We are sorry about your bumpy arrival. The good news is that the driveway is now receiving the attention it needed - it is an 'unadopted' road and there have been discussions with the council about its mainenance - but all is now sorted and the driveway up to...
