I didn't stay here or eat here so I cannot comment on that but I did spend about 20 minutes in the bar. The barman managed to pour the worst pint of Guinness I have ever come across. He just put the glass underneath the tap and let it continue filling until there was no head left at all. Completely... More

I think the barman that this gentleman is referring to is me, and I do admit that we did have a problem with our Guinness fobbing too much last weekend. It seems to happen from time to time. When there is a lot of gas in the liquid it takes an absolute age for it to settle out, rather than... More

We spent two nights here, midweek. It was not full so parking was easy and service not too pressurised. We were made welcome and well looked after. Breakfast, (haddock and poached egg,) was memorable. Dinner was good but not outstanding, though the pigeon breast starter was particularly good. The room (no 4) was very satisfactory and we slept well. Compared... More

Went in on a Saturday evening. No tables free but they found us space in the bar. We had an excellent meal! Mushroom and Binham Blue stroganov, Bream and sticky toffee pudding with brandy toffee sauce were exceptional. And the service, even on a busy Saturday evening, was friendly and efficient. It's a great hotel to stay in, and it... More

We have just returned from two nights at The George. Overall the hotel is good, it has the potential to be out-standing, but obviously that would be more expensive. £75.00 a night b & b is fair, the rooms were ideal (we stayed in No. 8), with lovely views over the marshes. The evening meal was very good, although not... More

Stayed with friends for a weekend of walking and birdwatching, lovely bedroom with spacious bathroom and served a great breakfast. The hotel is in an excellent position with rooms overlooking the marshes and Cley reserve only 10 minutes walk away. The only 2 negatives were that the hotel had a constant odour of cooking and the evening meal was a... More

We did not realize that it would be best to have reserved a table but the lovely lady managed to find us one. We were grateful for this because the food looked good and we did not want to drive out to somewhere different. We had a good meal, good wine and excellent ice cream. Thanks very much to the... More

We had a lovely stay here recently. We received a nice welcome, Taken up to our room which was very spacious and comfortable, with a 'sitting area' just right for our stay. The bed very comfortable, good quality clean linen. A desk in the room was useful for my working hubby! Lovely clean spacious bathroom, with fluffy white towels. Eating... More

Parking is tight depending upon your time of arrival. Male bar manager initially seemed to have had a charisma bypass - although it was at the end of a busy Easter bank holiday! No excuse, he needs to be as welcoming and efficient as his wife! (She remembers what the kids eat for breakfast!) My family was very well looked... More

Called in for an unplanned lunch as we were in the area having a look around prior to our stay with friends in Cley at the end of April this year. Very warm welcome and we were allowed to bring our dog into the bar area. Nice local beer and google quality freshly made sanwiches. As someone else has said... More

This is a brilliant pub, with enthusiastic and patient staff. The bar and restaurant are not large by any means and you may need to book, however if you want above average pub food without restaurant prices this is the place to go. Curry night on Thursdays is brilliant value with curry and trimmings and a pint for under a... More
