Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On a 'round about' journey back to Hereford from Great Witley Court, we came across this wonderful inn The Tally Ho. Luckily for us they were serving a Sunday Carvery and they're dog-friendly. It was so refreshing to see a family run business that focuses on home cooked food delicious meats, fresh vegetables (not over cooked), and Yorkshire Pudding my mother would have been proud of. Highly recommended. Will stop there again soon. ❤️

The strangest and most unwelcoming place I have ever stayed. With a 3 Star rating I was expecting an Inn of that standard. Sadly it didn’t warrant this rating. Our room was cold with a damp smell. On further investigation I noticed that the heating had been turned off so I switched it back on but nothing happened until later in the day when the room did warm up. The bed was clean and comfortable. Our bathroom shower had good pressure. These were the only positives of the Inn.

Came here for a weekend away specifically to attend an event at Shelsley Walsh hill climb, Hotel is in a great location, Breakfast was 10/10. Our room was on the smaller side but absolutely fantastic value for money and a great view over the rolling hills. Would highly recommend & wouldn't think twice about returning. Many thanks to the lovely staff who made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

We stayed for one night in this hotel with our friends. The inn itself if very unloved, it has an unpleasant odour and is generally dirty . We had lunch dinner and breakfast and did not enjoy any of it . The rooms are also lacking any TLC whilst they seem to be cleaner at first glance this is a false impression . The shower in our room was hopeless as the water kept stopping then coming back on red hot or freezing cold . The bathroom light turned itself off all the time which is somewhat disconcerting in a windowless room ! The staff were friendly enough but we got the impression that they were all disillusioned and had given up . They did help us to get a taxi which was good of them . I do not like to write bad reviews but having dragged out poor friends along to this place I felt the need to warn others . Interestingly the lady who checked us out did not ask if we had enjoyed our stay if she had I would have told her !

Stayed here for three nights recently. Nice room, good shower, comfortable beds, plenty of wardrobe space with hangers,TV. telephone, tea and coffee etc and very clean and tidy. Good range of beers. Friendly staff. Food and drink prices very reasonable. Nice old pub with a modern extension nothing to complain about. Bar area and restautaunt could do with updating but ok. Was fairly quiet when we visited which is a shame but as it's on a B road with a very limited catchment area we weren't too surprised.

The real ale selection in the bar was excellent The overall condition of the bedroom and especially the comfort of the bed was very good but there was some transfer of noise from the room next door (10, we were in 11) in the morning when I heard murmured conversation but not a problem unless a person was a very light sleeper. Breakfast was very good but would have been improved by the addition of some black pudding (I'm a Northerner but apparently most guests don't like so it isn't offered)

I cant fault the food or the service at this pub. It had a great selection of meals and a great selection of drinks. The views were brilliant. My wife and I opted for the half pounder burgers which is more than enough for a land animal !! Great portions !! We ordered a side of garlic bread with cheese and this was very enjoyable but probably better with just the quarter pounder burgers. We will be back !!

Went here for a big family gathering, the pub is what a real country pub should be, the food was excellent and service was friendly. The bar had a good choice of real local ales and again friendly service. Highly recommend the fish and chips, good size portions and the staff did very well in serving over 20+ people in the group!! Excellent night out.
