Stayed for 1 night. Nice setting in little village. The room was bright & clean, the bed comfortable & there was a good power shower. However no chair to sit on whilst drying your hair and cheap curtains let in a lot of light. The thin walls and noisy plumbing are not good if you enjoy peace and quiet. Breakfast... More

We were staying one night, for a friends wedding nearby. The room was nice, apart from the shower being a wet room, meaning we had to mop the floor afterwards. Really annoying! The worst began when I came to check out. I paid by debit card. In the reception area there is limited Internet signal and the girl who served... More

Our whole family stayed at the Hanmer Arms for a long weekend, because we were going to a family wedding at nearby Iscoyd Park. On the upside, the couple who own the Hanmer Arms, Chris and Amanda, were endlessly helpful, and their staff likewise. The rooms were scrupulously clean and well-equipped. The standard full English breakfast was very good and... More

Just back from a long weekend at the Hanmer Arms as part of a large re-union group. It's a traditional pub-type hotel in a pretty village. All the bedrooms are situated in well-converted outbuildings and our room and bathroom were pleasant and clean, with a couple of garden chairs at our door (although the bucket of sand with fag ends... My husband and I recently stayed here as part of a wedding party of 19 guests attending a wedding at Iscoyd Park just up the road from the pub. All the staff were very friendly and obliging. We ate at the pub on the Friday night and the food was excellent and beautifully presented. The only downside was that the... More

Where do I start dead mouse outside of our wedding reception room Pointed out by a guest. Our wedding cake decorations had been thrown away or nicked. The staff then turned around and said one of our gusts could have taken the decorations of the cake instead off finding who ever cut the cake two quick to blame!! My husbands... More

I have been lucky enough to visit this pub/hotel on numerous occasions due to work and social events and would reccomend it to anyone. The food is great with generous portions. Now under the new management they have put a new pool table in and the atmosphere seems to have improved ten fold. The only criticism I would make is... More

My wife and I spend Christmas each year staying at our son's home near Whitchurch. We have regularly dined at the Hanmer Arms both in the evening and at lunch time. The business is now under new management and it is very pleasing to find that the very good experiences we have had in the past have continued. Sedohr
