Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sarah was incredibly helpful in helping me plan the possibility of scheduling our wedding at Prestead Hall. She jumped the phone and answered all my questions, and scheduled a day to come and visit and look around. She really went above and beyond and was so friendly, thank you!

Me and my wife got married here on 02nd December 2023. It was the best experienced ever and made all the better due to the amazing staff and venue. We knew when we walked in 2 years ago and saw all the Christmas decs and roaring fire that this was the place we wanted to be married. From our first meeting down to the last goodbye the next day, we couldn’t have felt happier or more welcome. The food choices we had were plenty (more than any other venue we looked at) and narrowing it down to just a few choices was difficult. We went to a few tasting evenings and everything we ate was delicious. The venue itself is amazing. Very easy to get to but far enough away from the A12 that you wouldn’t know it’s there. We have had many guests compliment the venue and I know of a few people that want to book again for birthday parties etc etc. it’s testament to everyone involved. The rooms were really tidy and the beds were extremely comfortable. I think everyone had a fantastic nights sleep. Finally. A massive thank you to Dan, Kathryn and Maddie who were with us every step of the way and made everything smooth sailing. We hope we will be able to come back again sometime to see everyone! Mark and Lucy

From the moment my daughter found this beautiful venue I was enchanted. Atmosphere ; Welcome by friendly, helpful staff ; Individually styled bedrooms- each luxurious- so comfortable and roomy ; Function rooms of choice, (Ours was the orangery- leading out onto the lawn and lake) ; Parking; Fabulous Food- good choices at reasonable cost; Not to forget a chance to use the Activity Centre next door with pool and spa ; Everything was perfect for my special occasion. The day was relaxed and easy, everything taken care of so thoughtfully. It was a wonderful experience, thank you ALL. I want to mention Dan because he led me through all my anxieties with wisdom and good humour. Thank you Dan. Comment from one guest “ How did you pull this off, guests from 1 month to 90, so diverse, beautiful place, great staff, there is nothing that could make it better, will never forget it, congratulations on a wonderful day”

We had our wedding at Prested Hall in September 2023. They listened to our wishes for the day and made them a reality. We had meetings leading up to the event where details were discussed and we were reassured everything was possible and in hand. We felt confident throughout that everything would go smoothly. We were lucky enough on the day the have an outside ceremony. The location for this is stunning. The staff were busy making sure everything was pristine. We got ready at the venue and the staff were so attentive, checking on us regularly & getting anything we needed. They ensured everything went according to plan and on time. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Everything was well organised and went without a hitch! The day for us was amazing for many reasons but not least because of this stunning venue & superb staff. We can't recommend Prested Hall highly enough. Thanks Dan & the rest of the staff for making our Wedding Day so memorable.

Driving up the long drive we knew this was going to be a venue with a touch of class, we weren’t disappointed. Chance to meet up with family/friends and celebrate a wedding with an action packed day of activities. Fantastic setting, lovely rooms, staff were very helpful. Well worth a visit if your in the market for a wedding venue. We had room 11.

My wife and I recently got married here and we could not have asked for a better day. Dan, Kathryn and the staff there were amazing at making sure our day ran smoothly even with the rain forecast. Throughout the planning process they were very helpful and every request we asked they made happen. Our family and friends were so impressed with the staff at Prested Hall and have all commented on how beautiful the venue looked and how wonderful the day was. They all enjoyed the wedding breakfast as well as the buffet later on in the day. We stayed overnight and the rooms were very spacious, beds were comfortable and many people were impressed with the facilities in their rooms. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very accommodating. Thank you again for making our wedding so special from start to finish! C&T Cripps

Visited Prested Hall for a spa day with the girls for my surprise family hen do! Turns out I've been there before about 6 years ago but only realised half way through the day... Can't have been that memorable first time round (and seems I didn't leave a review). Anyway, I can't comment on the price because I didn't pay but I heard it was a good deal. We started with a coffee on arrival and we had afternoon tea as our lunch which was really nice, just a little heavy on the sweet stuff. The spa facilities are all as expected... Didn't use the gym but there was a big pool, sauna, steam room and loungers. Couple of downsides... Not much to snack on at the bar but they did offer unlimited free herbal teas (shame I don't like them), the pool was opened up to kids at 3pm so it became incredibly noisy and my massage was a little on the heavy side... And by heavy, I mean it felt like someone had taken a sledgehammer to my shoulders the following day. We had to leave by 4pm as that was the closing time (not sure if it's because it was a Sunday) but that meant sharing a changing room with all the children... Something I'd consider the polar opposite of relaxing. All in all, a good day was had and although this review seems fairly negative, I'd definitely consider coming here for a spa day if you're local or due to stay at the hotel for any other reason!

Joined over 2 years ago as its my local gym. Left after a year as was getting fed up with the poor facilities. Joined a gym 15 miles away, was £15 a month cheaper but had all the same facilities and in much better condition and more modern. Re joined Prested again this year as it is very local for me and in the hope things had been updated, sadly not. Showers are more often cold than hot and old fashioned, changing room floors always soaking wet, clothes lockers very small and temperamental, thats probably why theres always clothes laying on the side when you go in there, cardio equipment dated and often malfunctions, wifi drops out frequently. Would love to say something positive but cant think of anything. For £50 a month there are many other gyms out there a lot cheaper and with more volume of eqipment more modern than here. Very very expensive. The gym is clearly jusy a bolt on for cash for them and not something thier very interested in. Will ride the month out and go back to travelling 15 miles to the gym instead of this one. Do your homework before you join.

We’ve been coming to Prested Hall for the past 3 months, once a week when our child is in childcare. It is simply our ‘slice of bliss’, a piece of luxury we look forward to and both benefit from mentally and physically. The staff are ALL lovely, welcoming and have a sense of humour. Coffee is exceptional. Real beans and awesome coffee cups/mugs. Prested Hall have spent a lot of money on good quality gym equipment. We are both personal trainers so can appreciate the efforts they have gone too. We always have a great session here, the lighting is nice and the cleanliness is spot on. The Sauna is HOT and perfect, steam room is equally as good. Pool is a decent size, calm and peaceful. The chlorine levels are not high which I personally love. Changing rooms are massive, free hairdryers and they still provide bags for your wet swimmers. We’ve treated ourselves twice to a half spa day which includes two treatments. Paula and Lily are truly exceptional and it’s obvious they are very experienced and knowledgeable. Sam falls asleep and I’m able to fall into deep relaxation resetting ourselves ready for the grind of life :-) The ladies go above and beyond to ensure we have a great time and even recommended products that might help our sons eczema. The only thing I would improve on is the floor tiling in the changing rooms. It reminds me of going to the swimming baths in the 90’s! It’s dated but clean. It would be a huge task for Prested Hall as the changing rooms are MASSIVE. But it would really improve the feel of the spa. Overall we are excited to have found Prested Hall and travel 20 minutes every week to enjoy our day with them. Keep doing what your doing guys!
