Can't say better than Blanches just makes you feel "at home". Stuart and Robert have thought of everything to make for a perfect stay - the attention to detail is faultless. They make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive and make sure you leave with an excellent breakfast (clearly all the ingredients are well sourced). Try it -... More

As an agency Midwife, my work takes me all over the Country and more recently Chesterfield I always tend to find somewhere I like to stay fairly quickly in a new area, but Chesterfield has been a nightmare! I have found a haven in Blanches Guest House, where the welcome is warm friendly and very accomodating, but never overwhelming...which suits... More

We wanted somewhere to stay that would allow easy access to National Trust properties and the Peak District, we are vegetarians, we did not want to pay a huge amount, cleanliness and friendliness were crucial. Blanche's guest house ticks all the boxes, and as other reviewers say, Robert and Stuart are so helpful but never intrusive, many thanks.

Ready for sleep in my peaceful, elegant, cosy room I grumpily thought I would have to get out of bed to switch off the ceiling light. Silly me! Not in Blanche's Guesthouse. A handset allows me to dim and switch on/off the lights or activate the ceiling fan. Everything from the welcome to searching on line for my next b&b... More

If you want a cosy stay, warm room, delicious homemade breakfast, eggs made the way you want, all you need in a room, and a warm welcome, you've certainly found the right place. I only stayed a couple of nights but will certainly repeat next time round. Really felt at home. Hope the best to Stuart and Robert!

Pound for pound this guesthouse must rate as one of the best value establishments in Derbyshire. The accommodation is spotltess and the rooms more than adequate. And when it comes to the breakfast it is as good as a hotel with a range of choices all freshly prepared for the visitor. Free wifi is an added bonus. Robert and Stuart are... More

An absolutely first class stay at a well specified, clean and welcoming guesthouse. Accommodation, decor food and welcome bely the price you pay. Amazing value for money and recommended to all. I stayed for 8 nights whilst training locally and will be back for a holiday stay as soon as I can!

We received a warm welcome with easy conversation in relaxed and pleasant surroundings. Needs well thought through and catered for with minimum fuss. Great breakfasts to meet individual needs. Requests for assistance locating small but seemingly obscure villages were readily forthcoming and certainly made our stay at Clay Cross a memorable occasion. Congratulations to Stuart and Robert
