Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat (BJR) is definitely a pearl in the middle of central India's astonishing nature. BJR's excellent host, Sunny, and his loveable staff made our India experience unique and unforgettable! We enjoyed warmest hospitality, savoured delicious traditional indian cuisine (with vegetables from the own garden), relaxed in BJR's fabulous natural surroundings, lived the real Indian life, met tribal people... Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat is a very vice, clean and quiet place. Sunny, the owner, is also a wonderful guide , and will show you the villages, and the people (Gond and Baiga tribes) It's very different from other places in India After, you can go to Kanha national park (4-5 hours by car) and see the tigers

We were suggested to finish our 3 weeks trip to India there and it was the best advice we had. It was simply amazing!!!. We felt as if we were at home with the very nice, kind and friendly Sunny and the rest of guys. Those were the most authentic days we really had in the trip: real and the... More

With a lush green setting overlooking the Maikal hills, Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat feels very far away from the cities of Chhattisgarh. The location is gorgeous, particularly the dining area, and one could spend several hours curled up on a diwan on one of the porches outside the rooms. That would be a mistake, though, because what really makes BJR special... More

We enjoyed our stay in this remote corner of Chhattisgarh more then anything because it's still such an unspoiled area where we could experience the authentic India far away from the tourist crowds. Thanks to the owner who has created such a marvelous place in this beautiful valley. It's not a 5-star for sure but good enough to spend a few days... Although the resort is only 15 km away from the rather busy town of Kawardha it has such a serenity and peace that is difficult to find anywhere in India today. The very knowledgeable owner Sunny treats everybody like a personal guest, even friend. There are ample opportunities to make a great day from bird watching to visiting the colourful tribal markets from... Sunny Upadhyay who built and runs BJR has got it so right. A simple collection of traditionally built cottages, decorated in the local style, with a pretty garden in which you can laze about, eat your lunch, or drink a beer around the evening camp fire, with the Maikal hill range as a backdrop. Sunny's staff are the kindest you... More

The setting for Sunny Upadhyay's Bhoremdeo Jungle Retreat is quite stunning - a valley surrounded by the lower slopes of the Maikal Hills - where history and Tribal culture can be experienced and imbibed the way it should be. I have watched BJR emerge as a destination of true value, and Sunny has created a truely welcoming and relaxing ambiance... More
