Our family of four stayed at Neeleshwar Hermitage for 3 nights in May'13. There are 16 identical cottages done up beautifully with all the modern amenities.....very spacious & with wooden flooring & a big bathroom. There is a Infinity pool which is spotlessly clean & which overlooks the beach. The beach itself is very private with only the local fishermen... More

My friend and I had two days here in the middle of a fairly hectic trip to Gujarat and then on to Kerala. You are conscious of the Ayurvedic principles and eco-friendly policies of the resort but they are not rammed down your throat if you are just a holiday guest. However we loved the herbal and special health drinks... More

I stayed here for three nights at the end of a tour of Karnataka, to have some chill out time on the beach. Unfortunately I broke my foot whilst there, so chilled out more than I planned. I have to say, the hotel staff were magnificent in helping me to the hospital etc etc. they all looked after me with... More

What a wonderful stay at the neeleshwar. Everything is perfect. Fabulous food, beach, service, spa and atmosphere., this is exactly the right place for relaxation, peace and comfort , whilst keeping to its roots and not trying to be an anonymous western luxury resort. My spa treatments were excellent, when I wanted idlis for breakfast chef made them, when I... More

If you want complete peace and relaxation this is the place for you. This is my 6th visit to India and finally I have found pure bliss. Firstly the staff are amazing, friendly and super efficient without being overbearing. All the staff are from the local area so the owners are making a real effort to pump resources back the... More

I have had the most wonderful holiday here, this is my third stay and certainly won't be my last as I have already booked for next year. I book a cottage with views of the sea and the gardens. The bedroom is beautiful with flowers every night on your bed. The bathroom is open and has a palm tree and... More

Spa resort hotels are the top of the range in South India, but Neeleshwar Hermitage is something special, even by Kerala's high standards. Whether you fancy just hanging out on the unspoilt beach, watching the local fishermen, and swimming in the warm waves, or whether you prefer to cool in the infinity pool, watching the glorious sunsets, Neeleshwar Hermitage is... Had wanted to visit here for about 3 years, my husband wouldn't until they served some meat and had an alcohol licence. We booked their best sea view detached cottage. Flew down from Mumbai, told it was an hours drive, it was two and a half. We had ascertained that they only served beer or Indian wine, travel agent had... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying with us. There are two philosophies of tourism. One is to import Western luxury into an exotic location with no consideration for the local living conditions and people, the prevailing economic and ecological situation. The other is to establish Western norms in a foreign location with an awareness of the prevailing local conditions and... More

We were here for 2 nights in February and probably had the most romantic Valentine's dinner ever - on the beach by candlelight, with the gentle waves lapping just beyond the softly illuminated palm trees! We loved the sunsets, the never ending beach, the bedrooms & outdoor bathrooms, the beautifully trained staff, the pool, the gentle yoga and overall setting.... More

We at The Hermitage are all very glad that you enjoyed your time here and thank you for rating us 4 star. Nevertheless, you raised few points that we would like to address. 1) The prices of all items in Meenakshi are displayed in large writing on a blackboard, placed at the entrance of the restaurant, which serves as the... This was our second stay here and one we were very much looking forward to. It did not disappoint even though we had just had the most idyllic night on their exquisite houseboat, the Lotus. The accommodation is modelled on fishermen's huts and have refreshing, style-setting bathrooms, half outside, half in, with a palm tree growing out of the pebble... More
