The only two things we wanted and we phoned to check they were available, weren't. We wanted a hotel in the city centre with a restaurant and a room with Wi-Fi. Having been assured both were available we booked and arrived to find out that the restaurant was closed and the Wi-Fi in the rooms none existent. The rooms were fine and the location excellent for sightseeing, if we hadn't particularly wanted a restaurant in the hotel and didn't need Wi-Fi we would have been happy. It seems to me that they are far better off to tell the truth and then the clients will not be disappointed.

Location is very good, room is big and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is old, but well maintained. The staff is friendly and wants to help. The breakfast is not good and if you come half an hour before the end of breakfast time you'll hardly find anything. If we come back we will definitely book this hotel.

Two adult couples stayed in the Efehan Hotel in Bursa for 2 nights and 3 days. Hotel is older and in some ways showed it, but the location is excellent and the price is attractive. The breakfast was just okay, we would stay at this hotel if we went again. It is two short blocks from The Market Area, which contains The Great Mosque, the historic Koza Han, Covered Han, Fidan Han which dates to 1470, plus much more. In the same general area are thousands of other shopping opportunities, almost beyond imagination. It rained off and on for the three days, but once we got to the shops it was okay. Shop prices for items we were looking for were comparable to those in Istanbul. Bursa is known for its silk, but the vendors we would trust told us that China has become a top competitor, so be careful if we were looking for silk items. We also went to many of the historic sights by cab, which were very reasonably priced. Our vacation was based in Istanbul, so we took the Budo ferry to Bursa for about 22 Lire round trip. The bus and tram trip from the ferry landing in Bursa was very confusing in the guide books, so we took a cab to the hotel. Cost was about 30 dollars, which I considered very fair for 4 people and the distance involved.

The Efehan is more or less a standard business hotel, not specifically aimed at tourists but quite comfortable if you need a place to stay in the central bazaar area near the Ulu Camii (Great Mosque), which is about 5 minutes away; the Green Mosque is about 10 minutes away in the other direction. Finding a decent restaurant nearby is easy enough as well, though most businesses in the area don't stay open very late. The rooms were large and comfortable, and from the upper floors (including the breakfast salon) there are great views westwards over Bursa's bazaar district and towards the Hisar/Citadel. Not every receptionist was enthusiastic but service was good enough. I paid 30 euro per night for a single room, booked through booking.com, which is still expensive by Turkish standards outside Istanbul although prices are generally high in Bursa anyways. Overall, no complaints.

The hotel was centrally located approx. 150m from the No. 38 bus stop for the otogar. Our room on the 4th floor was clean and spacious overlooking the city. The room had the usual amenities hot water, tv, minibar, toiletries, hairdryer etc, however, the bath was clean but badly stained with part of the enamel coating missing. Due to the central location and nearby mosques we were woken early in the morning by the call to prayer. An average buffet breakfast (hardboiled eggs, cheeses, olives, bread etc) was served in the 5th floor restaurant overlooking the city. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful but the lift only operated intermittently. We were pleased we visited Bursa which is not touristy which has a number of good historic attractions, if we were to visit Bursa again we would certainly stay in this hotel.

There aren't many hotels to choose from in the historic bazaar area of Bursa, and this was the most expensive accommodation of our two-week tour because we wanted to be in this area of town. (It doesn't help that a lot of Bursa hotels are listed as Osmangazi on this website...) The Efehan is welcoming and clean, and very handy for visiting the lovely markets, spruced-up hans and early Ottoman mosques; it overlooks spice shops and a 16th-century mosque. Warning: the mosque will definitely wake you up - at least if you're in a room at the front. Buffet breakfast was good, but when we were there it was served in the basement, which is much less pleasant than the enclosed top-floor restaurant. On the whole, this was a very nice hotel. Our double room was spacious, even with an extra bed. We enjoyed our short stay and loved Bursa!
