I really enjoyed this place. It is out-dated as mentiooned in other posts but it is very well maintained and fits within its location in Old town Bursa. The staff is amazing and even though the English is very limited (I spoke no Turkish) I felt very welcomed and every question I asked or need I had was taken care of with kind and courteous speed. The housekeeping crew keeps the hotel really clean and comfortable. The first time I stayed for 2 nights... I found Hotel Dilmen as I walked looking for a new hotel as I had left a room with no heat. I returned later in my stay in Turkey and stayed 6 nights. I loved the traditional Turkish breakfast served every morning. There is also a restaurant on the 6th floor of the hotel with a great view of the city. The hotel is within walking distance of many landmarks within Bursa. There is a tourist station and the end of the street going right a few hundred meters from the Great Mosque where you can get a great free map that showcases how close everything is located. The shopping Bazaar is also at the end of the street and worth taking a look at. There were so many little shops near the hotel with great people. The jewlrey shop next door and the pastries accross the street make the area perfect for experiencing I think the best part of the culture of Turkey...it residents. The only con I experienced was the smell of smoke that still somewhat lingers in some rooms. And since it seems a big majority of the Turkish population smokes, it was evident at times in the evening. I am a non-smoker and did not like the smell but I did not notice it all the time.. The hospitality, cleanliness, the location and the overall feelings of comfort outweigh the sometimes smell of smoke for me in this particular property. That is why I rated 4.... would have given 5 if there was no smoke smell. I will return to this place as I miss them already. *Pricing will vary if you use a online site... it is cheaper I found to book it with the hotel. I ended up paying more when I booked a night through Booking vs paying the rate they had given me. Check it out as always

Pros: Nice staff Big room Cons: Nearly got up at 2 am and walked out from the smell Has not been updated since the 1970s It is like trying to sleep in the dirty ashtray of a dead man. Absolute lowest ebb of my entire trip to Turkey. If you are feeling depressed, this place will send you over the edge.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in a standard double room on the third floor. The hotel is quite dated but it is kept clean. Our room was large but the bathroom was a bit pokey and run down. However, cleaners came around every day and kept the room spotless. Since people have been smoking extensively in the rooms they do smell a bit. Our main problem with the room was the white curtains – we were looking out over the street and the orange glow from the street lights shone through the curtains. Once the sun rose the whole room would be well lit. The street below can be a bit noisy but the noise wasn't too bad when the windows were closed. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and was a pretty typical Turkish buffet breakfast. There was wi-fi available but it was a bit hit and miss. We had to leave our door open to have a strong enough signal even though the modem was just across the hall. I wouldn't recommend using the lift if you can help it – we had a power cut while we were there and I'd hate to be stuck in that tiny thing indefinitely. Aside from all it's quirks, we didn't mind the hotel for a couple of nights. Most of the other guests while we were there were business men and it was very quiet. The location is great and close to the bus stop that will take you to the main bus terminal. Our only gripe was the price – we paid more for this place than we did for a private room in a nice guest house in Istanbul. We didn't look at other places so the Dikmen may still be a good choice for the budget traveller in Bursa - at least it's clean!

As this hotel has been around for a long time, I was a bit surprised to find it only had one review, and not a very favourable one. If I had found it through Tripadvisor I probably would not have considered it. We moved there for two nights after a night in a cheaper hotel and found it well worth paying the difference. Staff were very helpful and able to answer all our questions, WiFi in the room worked well, and the buffet breakfast was of a decent standard. The location, up a side street from the blue mosque, could hardly be better. We checked out a few hotels in the area and this is the one we would recommend if you are coming to the beautiful city of Bursa.

This was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. The elevator was not working on my floor so had to go up/ down one level to use it. The elevator looks very hazardous and would probably fail any safety requirements (but noticed other hotels in Bursa had the same design). The room was smelly and damp and very small. The toilet could not flush on my last day there. Breakfast was terrible and can / should be avoided. The only good thing is the location as the market and Grand Mosque is a stone's through away. Bursa was great but hotel was not..
