I chose Canmore Inn because of the low rates, the central location and because it was not a cookie cutter hotel chain. First the good news: this hotel was very reasonable - we paid $80 a night US (about $55 Canadian), plus another $15 US a night for a cot. It was high season and that was a steal! Stayed there in August 2003 with 3 kids. Great location..15 minutes from Banff, reasonable price, kids loved the pool. Canmore is much less crowded than Banff and is just as beautiful. Would highly recommend this hotel for families. more
