We arrived in Calgary late afternoon and found the Paintbox Lodge reviews from trip advisor to be quite postiive so booked one night stay here enroute to the Post in Lake Louise. Unfortunately it was a rainy night but we enjoyed the accommodations at the Paintbox and wished we would have stayed 2 nights here. We enjoyed dinner at the... more

My husband and I have just returned from an unforgetable weekend in Canmore, Alberta. We stayed at the Paintbox Lodge, where we were pampered for the entire duration of our stay. The fresh flowers in our suite, champage to sip in our oversized tub, goose-down bed...the list goes on. There is a Spanish tapas restaurant (called Tapas)right on site, where... more

Wife and I want to raise a glass and toast this spectacular property in the Rocky mountains. Small but luxurious - simple but comprehensive - private yet personal - just what the doctor ordered. The attached restaurant was cozy, tastey and fun serving Spanish cuisine with a teriffic selection of wines. Great service and attention to detail throughout highlite this... more

Our stay was above and beyond expectation. The room and the main entrance had great personality. It is far different from any other bed and breakfast that I have stayed at. The room was cozy and inviting after a long day of skiing. The staff was more than willing to accomodate all of our needs. After the long day of... more

This place is a disaster. The rooms are nice however, the floors were filty like they weren't cleaned in weeks. The 1st night we arrived the sheets on the bed had food crumbs and other peoples hair on them. The furnace makes a loud noise every 2 hours. The ownership claims it is 2 years old?? It hasn't been serviced... more

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Paintbox Lodge for 5 days early this month. What a pleasure. The facility is wonderfully kept - the towels are so thick that you lose yourself in them - the creams and bath products are of best quality. The rooms are spacious - some with fireplaces. And the feather... more

My son was married in Canmore and arranged to have 18 people from the wedding party stay ay the Paintbox Lodge. We were able to rent the whole facility. What a good idea. No matter what time of day or night there were always people gathered around the fireplace in the main sitting area of the lodge. The wedding was... more

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights in early July. It exceeded our expectations. The room (Honeymoon Suite) was great. It was big; clean; nice view; beautifully tiled bathroom; great fireplace; decorated well. The breakfast served at Tapas was excellent. On a Sunday of our trip they had a lobster, egg dish that was excellent. The owners Gail... more

Recently my new husband and I spent our honeymoon (and the most romantic few nights of our new lives together) at the Paintbox Lodge. While looking for a getaway to explore and enjoy the mountains after recently getting married, I asked a few collegues if they knew about any lodges in Canmore or Banff, Alberta. Because my husband and I... more

We stayed at the Paintbox earlier this summer and were very, very disappointed. This supposed "luxury" hotel is located in downtown Canmore, overlooking a parking lot, and a huge pile of junk. There is no air conditioning so the windows needed to be left open. Very difficult sleeping conditions due to the noise level directly outside the lodge, and the... more

Paintbox Lodge, Canada Select 4.5 Star Inn - voted one of Enroute's Favorite Boutique Hotels in Canada January 2005 excelling in Bed Comfort "Our favourite beds include the superplush model like those at Paintbox Lodge, are so cushy you practically need a running start to hop in".
