We visited Owen Sound and Collingwood in the summer to hike and bike. Our hosts were experts on the Bruce Trail, and they steered us to other wonderful hikes as well.
Inglis Falls is highly recommended, as is the Grey Roots museum outside Owen Sound.
The out of town location was perfect for a restful vacation but close enough to town for convenience. The room was comfortable and well-furnished. Breakfasts were delicious and generous. The hosts, Paul and Diane, have lived on three continents and made us feel most welcome. Be sure to ask for driving directions on the back roads! more

Riverside B&B is a gem in the country-side. My wife, daughter and I stayed over the Canada Day long weekend in July 2006 and had the best time imaginable.

We rarely seek to write reviews, but do so when the experience is particularly wonderful, or poor. In this case it was excellent and comes highly recommended. Below an excerpt from the email we'd sent to Diane and Paul after our stay.

"Thank you very much for a delightful Canada Day long weekend at Riverside B&B. The great room, delicious breakfasts, and breathtaking country-side all contributed to a wonderful experience for Pat, Sofia and I. Most of all, however, your hospitality made us feel welcome and at ease. Also, the home-made maple syrup is fantastic! Thank you very much. "
