The Chateau d'la Baie is located in Acadian country, on the southwest shore of Nova Scotia, about 40 minutes north of Yarmouth. The B&B is in a lovely restored heritage house, just steps from the ocean. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with brand-new private bathrooms. There is wireless internet. The continental breakfast was perfectly sufficient for us, but those who expect a full American breakfast should be aware that this is not what they serve.

The Chateau d'la Baie is run by the Comeau family, which also owns Au Havre du Capitaine, a hotel and restaurant about 10 minutes down the road, towards Yarmouth. Louise, her daughter, and everyone else could not have been more welcoming and charming. This is Nova Scotia hospitality at its finest.
