Stayed for one night at the Mountaineer lodge in a two-bedroom "suite." The place was impeccably clean, but that's where the accolades stop. It was Spartan: no robes, no slippers, no fancy toiletries, tiny CRT TV, no view(!), no wi-fi no staff after 7:00pm and almost no staff before, and, worst, ridiculously uncomfortable, hard, Queen-size beds with cheap linens and... more

Kicking Horse is the internet travelers worst fear. It is the spectacular Web site with lots of promises, but for the summer of 2009, it failed to deliver. The "lodges" (Both Glacier and Mountaineer) were clean and well kept, but lacked services, charm, people, and perhaps critical for the nights that we were there, cooling, for the two steamy hot... more

We stayed at the Palliser Lodge for one night while we were passing through Golden. Front desk staff were friendly and professional and couldn't ask for better! Our room was amazing and had a balcony, kitchenette and king bed. The cleanliness was spot on - it looked like we were the first ever people to stay in the room it... more

just be aware that there is no a/c or fans in the units. Normally the nights cool down here, but in June we had 28C for 3 days....it was most unpleasant in the rooms. We tried leaving the patio doors open, but no screens, so we were eaten alive every nite by no-see-ums and mosquitos. Other than that it was... more

I read the previous reviews on TripAdvisor and was hesitant at first but was told there was a new professional management company in place (as of Jan 09 I believe). The lodge and the suites were very well apointed, up to date and clean. The best feature may be the perfect location at the Gondola base. The front desk was... more

We stayed 3 days/nights at the Palasier Lodge at KHMR in August, 2007. The lodge was brand new and the surrounding area felt like construction. I'd assume the surrounding landscape is nicer now, one year later. We liked our unit a lot, especially the tiling in the bathroom. It was very clean and new, which was nice. The kitchen had... more

My wife and I stayed at the Mountaineer Lodge at Kicking Horse for a week in February 2007. It was the final week of our trip having been in Big White for the previous week. As soon as we got into our room, we both got the flu, and there we stayed for the next 7 days. I managed 2... more

Just got back from three days of snowboarding at Kicking Horse Resort. For the past five years, I’ve heard how great this place is with its dry snow and no crowds so I finally made the nine hour drive from Vancouver to check it out. The highway drive is fairly easy although there were some landslides and avalanches which closed... more

Stayed at the glacier lodge in kicking horse resort in golden. We rented a two bedroom condo with two baths. The price for the condo we thought was quite reasonable at around 200 a night. The condo was roomy and had everything one might want except the ability to open windows. They had no air conditioning except in the hallways... more
