I had the pleasure of staying at the Althone Inn last summer (2008) for my birthday. We received a very warm welcome from Miranda upon our arrival and she very kindly took my bag, saying "You're on vacation!" and carried it up to our room. We dined at the Athlone in for dinner and breakfast. The meals were absolutely amazing,... more

A wonderful place to stay, homey rooms, and great food. We were graciously greeted by a welcoming staff member, and showed around. Our room was quaint but just felt homey, it was a great bed as well! Dinner service was prompt and delicious, not to mention a BEAUTIFUL breakfast presentation for a B&B. I will be back, but next time... more

Our review title says it all. We enjoyed a warm summer evening on their patio, with a great bottle of wine and we had the hazelnut crusted lamb chops. Amazing - the best we have ever had. We were beginning a weeklong trip to Quebec City and this was the best meal of the whole trip. There were 2 wait... more

We went for dinner at the Athlone during our anniversary/birthday weekend getaway. My wife and I agree that our meals at the Athlone were up there in the top three meals we have ever eaten and we've had some amazing food over the years so this is saying a lot! Everything that we had was exquisitely prepared, absolutely decadent. Our... more

We have travelled widely in Europe, Asia, and North America, and this counts as one of the best B&B we have stayed in. The decor is gentle and comforting. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We got free Wifi in the room. The furniture is beautiful. Despite booking the cheapest room, the size of the room is much bigger... more

We booked a quick Valentine’s weekend getaway to relax and unwind. The Athlone Inn gave us that and more! We were undecided if we were going to retreat to our room, only surfacing for breakfast, or if we would have a dinner out. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice to dine in the restaurant. Beautifully decorated – no... more

I am actually surprised that this B&B is #2 of 7 in the town. If other B&Bs are worse than here, I would prefer not going back to Gananoque again. They should call themselves 1 star motel not B&B. I was very disappointed. The room was bad, the service was very slow and the location was not great. more

We booked an overnight stay here, along with our friends, since we wanted to stay in the best sounding b and b nearby the boat cruise. Our room, which was their largest room, was spacious, very comfortable, clean, and included a very large bathroom with a separate shower, and double jacuzzi for two. We really appreciated having the relaxing jacuzzi... more

The Cottage Suites obviously used to be a cheap motel. They renovated little bit but it is still not worth to pay $130 for this incredibly tiny stinky room! it was great riped off! The room has disgusting dirty carpet, very soft bad quality bed and cheap furniture. They put duvet but it was too hot for summer. It was... more
