We drove to St. Jovite to see Gray Rocks in repose. This place of so many fond lasting summer and winter vacations for our family growing up has closed its doors for good. The cold rainy and too warm weather for skiing over the American Thanksgiving probably added to the many problems that beset this Grand Dame of the Laurentians.... more

Just spent 4 wonderful days at Gray Rocks and I sincerely hope I'll be able to return again soon. We were there about two weeks before the full onset of fall foliage so the resort was pretty empty which I loved! I sat outside, overlooking Lac Ouimet, drinking wine and writing postcards without another soul in sight; it was absolutely... more

We come here every summer for a family reunion. It is simply the perfect place for children and adults alike. The children can run around safely: there are expansive lawns, a lawn bowling court, a beach, tennis courts (extra charge), indoor pool and hot tub, game room, and a library area (with the bar in one corner) where they can... more

We had heard about Gray Rocks over the years as a good tennis and golf resort. The Gray Rocks web site also gives the impression that it is a high end lakeside resort. I am sure it was in the 70’s, but it is now well past it’s prime and not as advertised. We stayed in a section of the... more

Your reaction to Gray Rocks will depend on what you are looking for. If you are looking for great ski slopes, from which you are going to retire into a plush resort, you will certainly be disappointed. However, if you are looking for a family resort at a reasonable price, where you and your kids are going to learn or... more

I have stayed in Gray Rocks 3 times now including our wedding last summer. In every aspect, this place is great. While indeed this hotel has legacy (it is more than 100 years old) and could sometime be considered tired, all other aspects of this place makes it a great place particularly when you consider its price.' There are a... more

We stayed in a 1 bedroom condo, clean and comfortably. The Ski school was very good and friendly for the adults as well as the kids (6 and 8 years old), the 4 lifts have the same end at the top so is very easy to meet with everybody up the mountain. If you are looking for a familiar place... more
