If we are every fortunate enough to be able to return to Lunenberg, we would definitely stay at Kaulbach House again. It is located in an area close to the harbor and restaurants, shops and attractions, so that once you park your car, you don't need to move it until it is time to leave town. This is probably a... more

Having visited B&B's all over the US and Canada, I don't think you can do better in terms of a beautiful room, terrific scenery overlooking a lovely harbor, and extremely friendly, helpful owners/staff. Free breakfast is included by very friendly owners. Kaulbach overlooks and is 2 blocks from a very nice, photogenic harbor. Kaulbach located in historic district, named by... more

I would recommend this B&B in a heart beat. We stayed here 2 nights(bluenose suite), it is a bit pricy but totally worth it. CAA members may get a discount. David and Jenny are absolutely wonderful caring people, informed about the area. David suggested we visit 'The Ovens' and it was a real nice spot. 4 course breakfast was very... more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kaulbach. The hosts were friendly and helpful (the B&B changed hands a few years back), the house was beautiful and the breakfasts fantastic. The house has beautiful period furnishings and decor, but is not stuffy or cluttered (it has some modern sensibilities). There is a small "widow's watch" sitting area on the second... more

What a wonderful stay! The home was lovely and the location was perfect. Very clean too. The best part of the stay? David and Jenny the Inn keepers. Awesome folks that made us feel so welcomed. We will return. more

We stayed in several B&B's as we traveled around Nova Scotia, but I think this was my favorite. The house was historic, but the 2nd floor had been completely, and beautifully renovated. The rooms were a bit small, but the place was absolutely spotless. There were nice touches everywhere, that were "above and beyond" at this price. The breakfast was... more

absolutely wonderful stay in a relaxing historic setting. David & Jenny, a delightful english couple, saw to our every need - including somehow finding food that I was able to eat (i.e. allergic to gluten, soy dairy and red meat). more

We stayed at 1880 Kaulbach House B & B on October 3, 2007 and it was one of the best B & B we've ever stayed at. We booked the room months prior, while Glenn & Derek owned the property. Glenn & Derek were extremely professional and very personable during this process, not to mention honest. They were upfront about... more

My husband and I recently stayed at the 1880 Kaulbach House and Historic Inn in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. This is a beautiful place. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, are rather small, but the inn is gorgeous and located close to the harbor. Breakfast was superb. One of the innkeepers is a chef, and the food is defintely gormet quality, served... more

We had a lovely time visiting this inn. The breakfast was a real treat and we had several lovely conversations with our hosts - including a recommendation that we eat a local restaurant Fleur de Sel. The room was very comfortable (we were on the top floor in the room I dubbed "The Anne Frank" suite) with a large screen... more
