We didn't stay here but the restaurant was simply amazing! With a whimsical sense of humour and incredible energy, the attentive team made their patrons feel welcome and the food would challenge any Iron Chef’s fare. A true gem in the Rockies! Jordan was an amazing waiter – he will succeed whatever he does! more

If Kicking Horse Lodge were situated just a little further away from the train tracks, it would be a gem of place (more on this later). It is in a gem of a hamlet though. Although the furnishings were pretty much standard issue, the rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and the innkeepers are warm, hospitable, and engaging. The scenery and... more

We booked a room with two queen beds for a one night stay in July 2009. I had great difficulty getting them to return my emails and in the end, they put the reservation in the system on the wrong date and so now I'm stuck without a room on my first vacation EVER. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend... more

This is an amazing place! We have stayed here before but this is the first time under the new owners, and what a difference. The room we stayed in had been recently renovated and it had a really fresh feel. Unlike your normal hotel, this had very unique furniture like the mirror in the bathroom which looked like it had... more

Don't stay here if they offer you a room with a B after the number. We paid the same rate as customers staying above ground for a smokey basement room with broken bathroom fixtures. The staff were stoney and would not give us a discount. They said it was from one or two cigarettes. no Way. It was heavy stale... more

We recently stayed at the Kicking Horse Lodge for a night in November - a one-night getaway from Calgary. Having driven past Field, BC a few times and eaten lunch there once, we decided to give it a go and were very impressed. Kicking Horse Lodge was wonderful. Very friendly people (you can see the pride they have for this... more

Took 2 weeks, 4 emails and 2 phone calls from UK to Canada to finally get a confirmation of my booking, ok so they were busy but how do they expect to stay that way with service like that.... good job there is such limited choice in their price bracket or we would have gone elsewhere. Hotel as described previously,... more

Pretty basic hotel/motel. Not much in town, no food avaliable before 8 am at the restaurant in town. I did not mind that there is no a/c, but the train idleing all night is noisy. Clean rooms. The sight seeing in area is worth it all. more

Field is a crazy location - it's a small town next to the railway line in Yoho national park. There are two places in town to eat, 'Truffle Pigs' in the lodge and a cafe/general store across the road. The food in Truffle Pigs was not cheap, you could easily run up an $80+ without trying. The railway line runs... more

We stayed for 3 nights in this motel, we were not very impressed. The rooms were basic but clean but the staff were a little bit on the snooty side. We arrived at 9.20pm and were told the restaurant was closed even though it was full of people, there was nowhere to get anything to eat in Field so we... more
