Last hotel in BC going East before Alberta. My husband and I spent 1 night in August. We spent time, first at the Banff Hot Springs Pool and then at the Columbia Ice Fields. Everything is within close driving distance to the hotel. If you're a train buff, you'll love this hotel. We drove a few minutes to visit the Spiral... more

A friend and I stayed here and as the other negative reviews indicate: it was over priced, between two busy roads (trucks regularly use air breaks when descending the steep hill beside the hotel) and the train tracks. But the major problem was mice. We reported it the first night and traps and an odorous chemical were placed in the... more

15 minutes from Takakkaw Falls. Individual, well-maintained cabins. Ours had oversized bathtub and fireplace. Friendly staff. James Holmes, Executive Chef, (a culinary master!!), prepared delicious appetizers like elk ravioli complementing fresh fish, game, meat and pasta entrees. Don't miss the strudel. Can't stay the night? Enjoy exquisite dining. more

We stayed here for four nights and loved the hotel. Our cabin could best be described as elegant, rustic, cozy and peaceful. We had a lovely view of the mountains and the Kicking Horse River. The restaurant was very good and the staff was very helpful. There is no TV or telephone, only the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of... more

This was our third stay at Cathedral Mountain Lodge. It is a breathtakingly gorgeous spot, near Takkakaw Falls in Yoho National Park, within easy driving distance of many beautiful sights and hikes. Last year we came here with a small group of family for our wedding, and we returned this year for our first anniversary. The individual cabins are very... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cathedral Mountain Lodge. The natural surroundings are breathtaking, the cabins are very comfortable and the food at the lodge is outstanding. We spent most of our days hiking the area (it is a hiker's candy bowl for sure!) and enjoyed relaxing in the evening on our private deck within sight and sound of the... more

I stayed with my parents in a Loft cabin (named Mt. Ogden) which was located just a few feet from the Kicking Horse River. The room was a real log cabin which was extremely cozy. One felt very special, having been provided with Aveda products in the bathroom, and down duvets. To get to the loft, one had to climb... more

The cabins are spotlessly clean and very comfortable, and each one includes a small fridge. Two aspects of our stay disappointed us. Firstly, we were in the cabin closest to the main lodge and the noise from the extractor fan for the restaurant was very intrusive. There are several cabins close to this so if you are thinking of staying... more

Only stayed one night at the Lodge - reserved a queen deluxe cabin. Were really happy with our choice. We had researched the Lodges in this area and were pleased that we chose Cathedral Mountain over Emerald Lake. - some of the really pricey rooms at Emerald Lake were not detached, although it is a lovely location. At Emerald Lake... more

We just returned from our stay at Cathedral Mountain Lodge. We spent the first week of our trip staying at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise (fantastic as always) and the last 2 nights here (why I don't know). When we checked in we were told the restaurant and lodge (which is not big) were closed due to a private party.... more
