Really, that says it all. The only thing hostel-ish about this place is the bunk beds in the rooms. Beautiful wood building, large, comfortable living room area with a fire always laid in the fireplace, a large modern kitchen, sound system with plentiful CDs and iPod dock, free WiFi and a computer for use, I could keep going. We stayed in the Fireweed Hostel having visited Banff and Jasper National Parks. The staff were very friendly, rooms light and clean, beds exceptionally comfortable and all other facilities including the huge kitchen and amazing lounge with fireplace were excellent. Would definitely recommend to all travellers, the hostel is modern, homelike and better than some hotels! more

Fireweed Hostel in Field is only a 20 min drive from Lake Louise and is superb value. We stayed in the family suite which is really a 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen and bathroom facilities. The same thing in Lake Louise would have cost us a fortune. At CAD$200 for the night it was excellant value for 4 adults... more

We (3 friends) had an amazing 1-night stay @ the Fireweed hostel in Field, BC. Very cozy atmosphere - the FULLY equipped kitchen (coffee maker, toaster, new dishes/pots/pans etc.) + common/dining room feels like at home. Great free food both in the fridge (milk etc.) and on the shelf (cereals, coffee, tea etc.) The bed rooms have 2 bunk beds... more

We stayed in the private suite, and it was really great! Everything you need is provided. I would definitely go back for a longer stay as the area has lots to offer and the hostel is the perfect place to stay while discovering the area! Very friendly owner and lovely hostel!!!! more

Had a really great time there. I thought it was cosy and kute. I like when I can cook my own food and not feel discusted by the dishes. Was alone in a room of four. Did not bother me. Overall clean and made me feel at home. I will be back this summer for sure. more

I'm writing this review as a favor to the owners of the Fireweed hostel. My friends and I had an unbelievable vacation this winter, and we owe it to Fireweed for providing us with the perfect accommodation. In our case, the location was great for resort skiing. It is within daily driving distance from several mountains, and lots of back-country... more
