I have to say, the cottage is absolutely stunning (just like in the photos on their website). The huge problem that we faced were the insects (horrible biting black flies, you literally couldn't step outside without becoming completely bloody). My wife and I found the cottage online, and planned (what we thought) would be a wonderful trip to a magnificent lakeside cottage. When we called the owners to book the place, we discussed which weeks/months would be good/bad for biting black flies and mosquitoes (not having been up there before, we weren't familiar with the region). They told us late May/early June would be wonderful. Well, it was absolute hell. We were up in one of the most spectacular parts of Ontario, and literally couldn't step outside. If they had told us the truth (that it would have been better to visit in August or September), I'm sure we would have loved it, but they were completely dishonest.

The Good: The natural log cabin look was great...
