I found this Inn to be far too expensive for what you receive. The location is not near the water, nor can the water be seen from here. A disappointment. The reservation office did not offer much in the way of 'what to do and see' so plan for yourself. They also neglected to let us know the Cooking Class... more

We have stayed at The Waring House 4 times this year and every time has been fantastic - we just book our 5th stay for Labour Day weekend. We love the rooms, the staff, the food and the live entertainment in the Barley Pub is great, a very cozy atmosphere. The location is close to Picton and all the wineries,... more

We stayed at the Waring House for a weekend in June 2009, our second visit. We looked at the rooms in the new buildings, which are lovely, but decided to stay in our reserved room in the house next door, Room 11. The room was a little crowded in that we had two queen beds, and only needed one, but... more

Upon arrival, we were told that our room, with hot tub, was not in condition so were immediately offered an upgrade. Not only did we receive an upgrade, but we got the Cottage property, which I believe is the nicest room (separate building) in the Inn. The front desk staff were very pleasant and accommodating. So, this was our first... more

We stayed at the cozy stone cottage on one occasion and recently stayed in the newest section. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud...we went to the Barley Room for dinner on both occasions...the creme brulee was superb and is almost as good as my husband's (he will be reading this, I love you, Scott). I would and have... more

Good things - our suite in the new addition, dinner service, coffee, dessert Bad things - not enough room here to list The worste - the food. It must have been their chef's weekend off. The food was okay, dinner nicely presented, but the dishes were either under or over cooked. (ie. the duck was like rubber and the beef... more

The people who worked there were great. However, the bathroom door was hanging off of its hinge and would not close. The toilet did not work when we got there. There was no hot water until they turned it on. The food was overpriced and nothing special. To top it off, the bed sheets had stains on. There were cigerette... more

We've stayed at the Waring House at least 20 times over the years. The last two times we stayed we were unimpressed. Broken sink in the room.-had to brush my teeth in the bathtub. Broken hairdryer in the room during the next stay. Plus, the staff doesn't really seem to care. I'm no fan of the owners and would have... more

We booked this for our 40th wedding anniversary weekend. We were underwhelmed by this property - it is not an "Ontario Finest Inn." Our room 15 was jammed with furniture - we had to climb on the bed to get to the cupboard, which was made private by a curtain, not a door. Our "terrace" was, in fact, looking out... more

My husband and I spent 3 idyllic days visiting with friends at The Waring House. Our room was in the main house which has only four guest rooms but also hosts a dining room and pub. The room was furnished with antiques and decorated in a rather victorian style. Old photos graced the walls. Even though the Inn is a... more
